Well with time for me to think about it Harding really caught Dawson off balance. Pascal went to war wih Froch so him getting buzzed was a once in awhile think. Both may have questionable chins but one thing's for certain they're not terrible! I expect both guys to give a great or very good fight in August. I'm a fan of both and can't wait lol.

Wasn't it from a jab? Clearly more off balanced than stunned?

I actually think Pascal has just as much hand speed as Dawson. In the second Diaconu fight sometime in the late rounds he threw the fastest combination I saw by a light heavy since Roy Jones. I didn't know he had it in him. Dawson will probaly, but like other's have said, don't count Pascal out.

    Dawson is the likely winner.
Does anybody buy that Pascal may have been weight drained at 68 vs Froch? Was the shoulder an issue at that time?

There sure is risk though, Pascal is pretty fast, Dawson definitely is too, but we are used to seeing Dawson run away with it against slower fighters like Adamek, Johnson and Tarver. It's hard to forget about Dawson's rough patches vs Johnson in the first fight and even the late knock down he suffered against Adamek, a very good fighter that looked absolutely LOST in the ring vs Dawson for the entirety of the fight until then.

But then I think about the kind of punches Johnson had to endure to get to Chad and the kind of pace he had to set, and that takes a very special fighter.

Then you have the mystery of the shoulder of Pascal. Will it be a problem? On the other hand, will a repaired shoulder make him better than ever?

I think Dawson will set the pace and win a clear decision. It is a respectable fight for Dawson to take, I'm looking forward to it.

    Quality Post :good

Yea I'm hoping the surgery will make Pascal better than ever, because it would be a damn shame if it effected his performance. Because we know Pascal will need everything he has to defeat Dawson.

And bother fighters have almost the same amount of time away from the ring (Isn't it both fighters longest pro layoff?) so it's not as if one fighter is gonna have the edge there either.

Since it's boxing, anything can happen, but the safe money is on Chad Dawson by wide decision.

Clearly, this is going to be the hardest match that Pascal has been in...and this is his fight coming off of surgery. As someone else mentioned this may be Dawson's second hardest fight(but most athletic opponent).

Chad just has so many tools in the tool kit. He has an extremely underrated jab. His double right hook combination is blazing fast and he works it upstairs and down in the same combination. He's a southpaw. He's taller. He has the longer reach. He's a good counter-puncher. He has the better skills...and when you combine this with Pascal's tendency to put his hands down (which Diaconu caught him a few times with that in the first fight) it looks to be a frightening night for Pascal.

However, Pascal is athletic and strong(unless surgery robbed him of power). More problematic is he can be unpredictable.

But the advantages are stacked in Dawson's favor so he's clearly a favorite for wide UD or TKO(accumulation). The reason for the possibility of the TKO is though Dawson doesn't usually push for a knockout, the last 4 matches he's been in were against guys who had a good defense and a tough chin. There's questions about Pascal's chin though it's obviously been more sturdy at 175 from what I've seen and he has been shown to have a leaky defense at times.

This fight wont be close. Pascal has next to no chance. He went to war with Froch and lost. That should tell you what level Pascal is on. Add injury and the fact that Dawson is naturally bigger fighter. Pulease.

Straddle with Pascal by kayo, but Dawson really should win this. He's a vastly superior athlete to everyone I can think of in the division.

I think Dawson will win by comfy UD. 116-112, 117-111 or thereabouts. He's just a better all around fighter. Pascal will come to fight though.

I can't wait for this fight. I hope Dawson wins by TKO but I doubt it, anything can happen though.

    Dawson in 12.

This fight shouldn't even be questioned. Pascal got out boxed but Froch. Dawson is the wrong style match up all together. Pascal's only hope is his good right hand...but thats nothing more then a hope.
