Sos got a title shot based on Vitali wanted to stay active in which is a smart move. Rahman already got destroyed by Wlad. <<So i doubt Vitali will fight Rahman any time soon. Vitali right now only wants big fights that is either Haye or Valuev.

He said he only trained for 30 days and had an injury. He took the fight cause it was a 7 figure payday.

I am always surprised by the hate he gets on message boards. If people aren't a fan of his, I can understand, but I don't get all the hate. He's had some uneven performances, but he hasn't embarrassed the sport by using PEDs, shooting his girlfriend, etc. And for a brief moment, he was on top of the boxing world. Not a bad career.

I don't disagree with that Ray. I said he might get a shot at a vacant title, maybe after VK hangs up the gloves. I don't think VK has any interest in Rahman, nor should he. And I think Rahman should stay away from VK at all costs.

I remember him being a late replacement in that fight, and at his age, taking a fight on short notice is no picnic. He knew he wasn't ready for that fight; you could tell. But he had to take it; you can't turn down that payday.

wlad beats him 100 out of 100 times.

NO WAY Rahman gets another shot. Who would want to see that anyways?

He may be able to work up another decent money fight, if he were to first win impressively against a few B level fighters.

But I doubt he'll ever been seen as a legit title contender. Wlad thrashed him, but good, already. Now Rahman will be a few years older by the time he works his way back to the upper tier..........IF he can work his way back to the upper tier, that is.

If he wins a few fights in a row, he may earn a Toney rematch, or maybe even a Tua rematch, but that'd be about the pinnacle of his comeback.

From the main page...............this Rahman response about Oleg is rather funny.

On what it was about Oleg Maskaev’s style that provided him with so much difficulty:
“I really could not answer that. I’ve knocked guys down cold in the gym that knocked him out. I really just don’t get it. There’s nothing I could say. Nothing could tell me this guy could beat me. I mean, I still don’t think he’s a better fighter than me but I just don’t know. I’m dumbfounded about that one. I can’t figure that one out. I don’t know what it is about him. I still haven’t figured it out. If I fought him again for some strange reason, he’d probably win.”

Ha ha,,, It was a good interview with Rahman. Rahman finally admitted he didn't take his career too seriously over the past several years and does appear to have some legit insight into why. IMO he hasn't looked all that impressive since the lewis fights and that's a lot of prime years to waste. It's probably too little, too late at this point and even if he were injured vs wlad (and not injured BY wlad) and got down to 230 it wouldn't matter at this stage. Rock was good for a brief while tho and i always root for the underdog, so i hope he defies the laws of logic and gets back to another title shot

A rematch with wlad???
Rahman was a walking dead in their fight, it was obvious he didnt believe in himself....

He will carry on like they always does and end up like Witherspoon, 45 years old getting beat by young up and comers...
