Did Pacman Duck Shane Mosley?

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Boxing Fanatic, Jun 16, 2010.

  1. Not really the same, since you're bringing an unnecessary 5th party into it. Obviously the original argument doesn't really matter anyway, since styles make fights blah blah etc etc.

But your logic is flawed is all.

Think about what you type. De le hoya was the cash cow of big money fights. Who in their right mind would pick Shane over De la hoya for a payday? That is why these guys fight . This is how they pay their bills.

Sure, I am not saying my logic is perfect, I am just showing him that his logic is certainly not all there is to the situation.

The guy is an idiot anyway, I don't even know why i replied to him.

Although Mosley to me looked to be the more formidable opponent at the time Mayweather fought him, than Cotto did when Pac fought him.

I would still like to see Pac-Mosley at 147. I think it would be a great fight and a war. If Pac won I would give him credit fior taking on a dangerous and bigger guy in Mosley.

I like your honesty coming for a Mayweather fan. I may be wrong but I think the majority of Mayweather fans would be jumping up and down about "Shane being Mayweather leftovers again" or " he was damaged goods" or Paq only fought him because of how bad he looked in the Mayweather fight. I don't think this would be a good fight at all, and I really don't want to see Shane beaten up like that. Shane cannot tire like that with Paq. in the ring . It would be sad to see him go out like that. He got his big payday with Mayweather, its time to see him follow Oscar into retirement.

    hindsight is 20 f'n 20.

Mayweather gets WAY too much credit for fighting a guy that hasn't fought in a year and a half.

After the assbeating that Pac gave ODLH, people would be criticizing Pac for beating up ANOTHER old fighter. But Floyd gets a pass for beating TWO 35 plus fighters. Its the same people that say Pac beat up a washed up Cotto and a washed up Hatton.

Pac will never satisfy some people.

Look at Mosley's resume the past 2 years.. He beat up a b- fighter in Mayorga. He lost but not clearly..lost to Cotto. He beat up an overrated Margarito. He fights Mayweather and gasses out after 2 f'n rounds. I'm just saying Mosley wasn't entirely that good in the first place. Hindsight being 20/20.

I agree with you, but I do wonder if Margo's mind wasn't on the fight because he knew he was busted with the illegal wraps. It sure didn't help him. I also wonder what effect did that have on the Cotto fight? I dont think that the Shane fight was the first time he pulled that stunt.

Did you see what a loaded gloved Margo did to Shane's daddy?
plus.....Margarito's state of mind was probably messed up after he was caught attempting to cheat.

To the topic, Cotto-Pac fight was made the day Cotto re-signed with Top Rank.

Absolutely not. Were not like Pac fans who screamed for Mayweather to fight Mosley then when he did they said he was old with 5 losses.
We know Mosley can beat Pac
But if he dosent, then Pac is what they say he is. He has yet to prove it. Cotto at 145 tells me nothing. Cotto always was a guy that can be beat too easily.
Mosley at 147 is a diffrent story, even tho cotto beat mosley style is the thing. Mosley can woop pac if he dont pac gets credit

Hind Sight is 20 20 only if you dont remember how you acted when it started.

Remember when yall said he was scared, Yall wanted that fight even arum yall wanted the mayweather to fall. He told yall yall would say hes old he has 6 losses (even tho it was 5 lol) and he wanted no parts. then pac ducks and he needs a fight. Then yall started saying bad move floyd for not taking pac fight, he gonna loose and not make the pac money, reporters saying floyd backed hisself in a corner blah blah blah hind sight 20 20? only if u dont rember the pass

in reality Roach kinda ducked Shane. I doubt Pac would have any problem fighting him at the time.

In any case, Pac went and fought a much younger, live opponent in Cotto who beat Shane, , then Clottey who was/is one of the most avoided welterweights.

well, you can't really fault boxing fans for questioning Floyds courage.

You have to remember that just before Shane, Floyd made a 36 year old lightweight fatten up to 147 so he could fight him.

One things for sure . You are speaking for a lot of people when you group Mayweather fans and Paq fans togethor. Don't put me in these groups. I don't post much but I 'm not new to boxing and will try to debate with an open mind. Cotto at 145 was a good test for Paq. I thought he was going to lose that fight. Cotto was no easy fight for anyone. He was a bigger test for Paq. than Marq. at 145lbs for Floyd. After watching Shane tire like he did the only way he beats Paq. is if he catches him early. Mayweather didn't make Shane tire out in the third or fourth round. That was Shane showing his age. He would tire again in his next fight.
