Rahman probably outhustles Briggs to a UD, but the entire audience would fall asleep in the process. If Briggs doesn't catch Rahman early, he has no chance of winning. He just doesn't have the endurance to be a 12 round fighter anymore.
This is actually a fight that i'm actually interested cause both are decline old fighters and both are former world champions that face the same fighter in Lennox Lewis. I pick Briggs cause he hits a bit harder then Rahman and is bigger.
I think if Rahman survives the first couple of rounds, he wins by uneventful decision. I think Briggs can't go longer than a couple of rounds at a high level these days. Now, maybe he won't need to agasint current Rahman; we'll probably know more after Rahman fights Miller on Saturday.
This is why it's an interesting fight cause both are decline old fighters that are former champions. Briggs is a taller and hits harder but he got big time stamina problem while Rahman can still crack when he lands but he got a very weak chin.
Agreed, it's definitely an interesting matchup. Heck, put it on Friday Night Fights and I'll definitely tune in. In fact, too bad McCall lost recently, because you could put him vs.Tua on the undercard and have the winners meet. You could call it The Guys Who Fought Lennox Tournament. :hey
Potentially not a horrible fight, but one of the best matchups is a stretch i think. If it was loser retires, then OK but briggs hasn't done anything since his hail mary KO in 07 and rahman hasn't done anything of note for even longer. Rahman is definitely there to be hit especially now adays, so Briggs should be able to get the KO if he doesn't die of exhaustion first
How about Tua vs Peter? Call me nuts but i'll pay to see it cause style wise that could be a war while it last.
