.... yep, he fought margarito in his very next fight correct??... Tony gave that ****er some humble pie
well, if you don't want to count that ass whooping, will you also deny pacman's masterful one sided destruction of cotto? or was pacman on a-side meth? :rofl
cotto was too good for gomez. bottom line. pacquiao has never been caught doing anything illegal. margacheato has. case closed. u must be mexican lol
While it's rare for him, Cotto actually "trash-talked" first in an interview when the fight was initially signed, saying that he would train as normal but he didn't anticipate the fight being much of a challenge. I got the feeling at the time that he thought an opponent the caliber of Gomez was beneath him and he definitely displayed that in the ring. Gomez said "he will win" if he was in top shape, which as it turned out, he wasn't because he got hit with a bad illness in the middle of his training camp and he still couldn't close his right fist come fight time due to it not being completely healed from breaking in his previous fight. He also said that he hoped that Miguel trained hard for the fight and didn't underestimate him because he would get a surprise if he didn't. That was the extent of his trash talk. He also said that he had a lot of respect for Cotto, thanked him for the chance, and thought of him as possibly the best Welterweight in the world at the time.
He gave him a flush connect before the bell ended and Cotto gave him the "Does-Wayne-Brady-gotta-slap-a-*****?" type look. Almost a "you aint **** man...quit playin" sort of look. Classic ****. :smoke
