Thats good to hear suzie - we should get them on here to swap a few stories - anybody out there got any contacts??
Now I'm totally bummed out :? time goes to quick! atsch RIP Roland too - another brilliant fighter i thought
Your right about Roland. My bad. I am 100% sure Carmine Vingo is still alive. I heard he lives in florida.
Here's an interview with Ted - the man was pure class - wish you were still here Tiger http://www.thesweetscience.com/boxing-video.php?page=21&sort=datedesc#top
R.I.P. Ted they dont make like that anymore...too bad he never got to fight in the Garden, he would be a Champ today...But Cheers to a long rich life
I am one of the few who saw the terrible beating Carmine Vingo recieved at the hands of Rocky Marciano in MSG,Dec.30,1949...I remember that night so vividly today...All of us in the audience who saw Vingo on the canvas, with his foot twitching, hoped and prayed that Carmine would survive the night, and sixty one years later our wishes came true... I am so happy for Carmine Vingo today, along with ESB...
Was it one or 2 shots that took Vingo out or was it a vary of punchings?? What do you think did the major damage in that fight? Since the only thing left of that fight today is a clip of a few punchings thown by Marciano and Vingo outcold on the ground with the corner and doc checking him out.
There were so many praying for Vingo, including Marciano himself and his family. Vingo was green as was Marciano but I heard so many good things about him as a upcoming prospect. I guess those prayers are still with him
