    who did lester ever beat?

    who did jeff beat?

fenech beat hall of famers, future and past hall of famers. he made world class fighters look second rate. (see him fight samart payakaroon) see fenech fight zaragoza (one of mexicos best ever hall of famers) , nelson 1,....... victor callegas hit fenech flush on the chin with his famous killer left hook......fenech walked through it!!! then demolished the ****!!

    fenech bashed em all.

comparing the careers of mundine and fenech is like comparing a restaurant dinner to a dog turd. mundine stinks!!

lester may have grown into a great fighter, but barry ended his dream.

    What about Nelson 3??

Jokes aside the job Fenech did on Callegas stick gives me goosebumps

man, you are so right. fenech tore him apart. callejas was special, he was more than world class, but fenech destroyed him. as he did all of them.

after the draw against nelson 1, jeff was never the same. he then subconciously gave up. it was over, for whatever reason. but his concious continued to fight. and he was NEVER, EVER, the same. and his record shows it.

Fenech, though underated by some here, certainly was a monster.

His performances against Nelson, in there first match-up, and Colleges, just for 2 examples, were bloody awesome!

Same thought went through my head when I saw this thread Nails.

I was fortunate enough to be at the Ellis v Michael title bout all those years ago, and although I was barracking for Ellis, nobody was going to stop Barry that night!

Fenech in his prime was a pure fighting machine that threw punches non stop. Relentless attack every minute of every round. I agree, the bull**** drawn decision took more out of Fenech than any punch he received. He should of been in the books as a legit 4 time weight world champion..............but we all know the story. I too think he would of smothered Lester's attack & broke him down.

On paper you have to back Jeff Fenech, his accomplishments at the top level for all to see.
I think Ellis peaked too early, he was still growing when he won the title and for all intents and purposes still a kid.

Jeff Fenech has the credentials to turn up and win this one easily over 12 rounds but a motivated Lester Ellis could probably do the same to Jeff.

Even if he was given the Nelson decision, he was going to rematch him again anyway and do people feel Nelson wasn't going to do the same thing in fight 2.

Fenech shld've been more motivated in the second fight anyway so the excuse he was a shattered man doesn't sit with me.

you dont understand what makes a killer, a fighter, an artist, a writer, etc. its subconcious inspiration. they all can lose it. they all can lose what drove them.

fenech lost his iron hard chin due to what he subconciously believed was the end. an end that was not worth the effort. his chin had been tested time and again. even in the first nelson fight if you bother to watch it. fenechs chin was rock.

watch callajes hit fenech clean on the chin with a left hook in round 4 ( i think 4).....no mortal would have kept standing, fenech blinked and then went on to slaughter one of the best left hokers that division has ever seen. look at callejas record....ko, ko, ko, all by left hook.

    You are missing the point.

WIN/LOSE/DRAW - Nelson had Fenechs measure. We all know Nelson was a very sick boy in the first fight.

Jeff Fenech was stepping up in weight and took on a big puncher who was less than 100%, when he was for fight 2.....wham lights out.

Not dissing Fenech but lets not forget he was stepping up in weight.
