I think Tyron Woodley has a lot of potential.

Rory McDonald is 20 and i know he just lost but at that age and to be in the UFC seems already pretty amazing. They didn't show the fight on the AFN channels my ship got that morning so i didn't actually see for myself how he was doing but if i recall he was winning the fight according to the site i followed the coverage on.Til that whole fist to the orbital bone dealie. he could develop into an amazing fighter.

I don't see any real standouts as of yet.

best young guys I've seen lately:

    Jon Jones
    Ben Askren
    Junior Dos Santos
    Jose Aldo

I haven't yet seen Matyshenko or Cain Velasquez fight. Rory MacDonald looked pretty good in his loss the other night for as young as he is, but I want to see some more out of him before I'd put him on my list of top prospects.

 Vlad isn't an up-and-comer, he's a long-time vet...I only mentioned him because he has an upcoming fight with Jon "Bones" Jones, whose name is in every other post in this thread. It's getting to be like a broken record in here. Yeah yeah, we get it...he's young and talented. He isn't the only young and talented kid in MMA.

lol, gotcha - I forgot the guy was even in the UFC :patsch

yeah, lot of guys listing Jones (including me) - the guy is definitely talented as hell and making an impression on folks. His frame/reach at 205 is crazy.

after seeing Askren just bulldoze through Hornbuckle last night, he ought to start showing up on every single one of these type of lists. Once he gets a couple more years of BJJ training he's gonna be absolutely unstoppable on the ground.

D'oh! My local FSN carrier (Comcast Sports Net New England) didn't show last night's Bellator, pre-empting it for coverage of the NBA Finals. CSN is the logal flagship station for the Boston Celtics TV market. I was hoping to avoid spoilers until this weekend when Bellator is syndicated on some Spanish-language channel. Guess I should have kept my nose out of the MMA forum!

Good for Askren, he dismissed the cynics with the convincing second win over Thomas and really seems to be proving himself. Quality wrestler, bad haircut or no.
