Its very poss. But if a south of age 35 Holmes could handle or get up from dude's power like: "Weaver, Shavers, Snipes, Cooney, Tim Spoon & Bones Smith, I think "The Homer" handles what Liston has to offer.......

Liston hits harder then all of these guys.
And Tyson managed to do it by catching Larry, so Liston may be able to.

Now that's 100% bull****........... Liston's power is top-notch, but so were the dude's I mentioned before that Holmes faced south of age 35......

As for Tyson, well Christ, Tyson was 21 and Holmes was a rusty age 38.... Tyson was peaked, while Holmes was / had slipped..... That is not relevant from '88 standards......
    :good

    No it's not.
I truly do think Liston's power is better then those of the men you listed.
Yeah, but the Tyson fight does prove what kind of fire power he can take.

I'll credit Holmes for getting up 2X after being dropped 3X in round 4 by Tyson in '88........ The 3rd time was wicked...... Who isn't going out from that barrage??

Liston does not hit harder than Shavers or Cooney and at best the equal of Spoon. He also could not hit hard on moving targets and had to glue guys to the floor with his sloppy footwork and ponderous but thudding jab. Holmes would not be fooled or baited for either. Granted, Holmes might momentarily have his problems but one thing is proven in Holmes career, he could figure a problem fast and recover.

Prime Holmes v Prime Liston= HOLMES KO10 LISTON

Okay, I forgot about Shavers, he does hit harder then Liston.
    Cooney, I doubt.
Liston does hit harder then Spoon tho. That's where it becomes a matter of opinion.
Holmes I think would get caught at one point and Liston would go after him with that jab and hook.
I think the overhand right would become very useful.

Hey, I like Liston but have you watched prime Holmes' footage. He was Ali-incarnate with a more wellrounded attack and ring smarts. He would eat Liston alive. Liston's great wins were the product of bum-rushing intimidation, something a prime Holmes would deflect with ease. And Liston had no B plan, so it would end in utter frustration, a beat down, and a quit job on Liston's end

And no, Liston did not have a punch in his arsenal that was as brutal as Cooney's left hook, though Liston was a far better fighter.

Were only boxing so rudimentary as you have reduced it, then all you simps would have it figured out.

    FAIL.
