Just so you know, a fair sized chunk of the people who bought the Mayweather/Hatton PPV in the UK did not have the faintest clue who Floyd Mayweather was and probably most had no more than a sketchy idea.

Neither Mayweather nor Pacquiao were relevant factors in the UK sales of those PPVs.

I don't think he should. Despite so many claiming him as being p4p #1, Floyd still generates more money then Pac, regardless of him being acknowledge as #1 or not. Therefore Floyd should receive the bigger piece, not only because he generates more money, but because Manny has never beat him for the top spot to begin with.

This is a very brave post!! im sure your inbox is full of death threats right now lol!! from a business point of view mayweather generates the bigger gate/PPV sales because he is the bigger name (this is true ******* or ***** you cant argue),

-MY OPINION- both of them should just realise this fight needs to happen for the fans and get it on.40-40 split with 20 for the winner if they are both that confident in winning then there should be no problem.

-they both need eachother to cement the legacy, and win or lose 40% is still a hell of a lot of cash!!

-i really hope they have JMM v Khan as the undercard make it a great boxing night and give us fans a top night of entertainment.

I think its pretty obvious that Floyd Mayweather holds a significant edge when it comes to drawing power.

When you look at common opponents:

    Juan Manuel Marquez
    Ricky Hatton
    Oscar De la Hoya

There has not been a single instance where Pacquiao has outsold Mayweather in common opponents. Additionally, Mayweather holds the advantage in live gate and PPV outside their common opponents.

From the numbers point of view, Floyd has the edge.

    55-45 would be more appropriate.

Or better yet split the purse 50/50 and let Floyd keep a larger share of the PPV revenue.

    50/50 or no fight...f'n bitches.

The winner can always ask for more during the rematch. What's the f'n problem?

  9. That comparison is ****ing ******ed. Let me show you why:

Miguel Cotto's and Oscar de la Hoya's common opponents:

Cotto vs. Pacquiao - 1.25 million PPV buys
de la Hoya vs. Pacquiao - 1.25 million PPV buys

By your logic Cotto would deserve 50% if he fought Oscar, right?

There's way more factors you're willfully ignoring.

I agree that a Pac win over Floyd would further solidify his standing as one of the ATG but what can Pac do if Floyd don't want it.

Look, even if Pac win or loses against Floyd or if this fight happens or not, Pac's accomplishment/legacy are there and they are impressive....and as I said, Floyd is it but he doesn't seem to be willing.

    off the topic question.

If you think Pac is nothing but a fraud and would get schooled against Joy, would you give credit to Joy if he beats Manny?...Should Joy even fight him?.... Do you think Joy would just be wasting his time just like what a lot of Joy fans think about the idea of him fighting that bum Margo?

One more factor that is always left out. Promotion. Floyd works as hard as any fighter I have ever seen in pre fight promotion. He never misses a conference he is always doing extra. He and his camp was the brains behind 24/7 that has helped ppv sales for big fights. He actually does a good job outside the ring unlike other fighters. He knows this.. he does this b/c he has a good work ethic despite never having a job..lol Sometimes you have to take your hater shades off and see it for what it is. Zab did not do any promotion. Gatti missed events(pissed Floyd off). It is what it is. He generates more revenue on paper therefore he gets more paper. He deserves 55 by ALL stats figured.

Yes, I would give Void credit. He makes lots of fights look like easy fights, so schooling emmanuel would just be the usual. Getting dominated by Void doesn't make someone a **** fighter.

Void has very good reasons to fight emmanuel. It'll most likely be the biggest payday he'll ever get in his boxing career due to all the hype emmanuel has surrounding him, some of the hype legit. Void adds a HOFer/ATG near its prime to his resume.

Like the one you are..lol The latest turn of events. Pac walked away from the table to take a heavily promoted fight in Dallas at the new stadium which was supposed to show off this pinoy phenom as "not needing" Mayweather for anything.. The fight does 700k which are good numbers and proves he is a draw. The fight sells a good amount of seats but does not generate "record breaking gate" figures. Floyd goes on to fight the welter weight champ and NON-PPV attraction Mosley. Who just came off of fighting Margarito on regular HBO.. Not just any Margarito.. but Margarito at the peak of his fame coming off the Cotto win. So it is obvious that Shane has little PPV pull or that would of been a ppv fight. Floyd's fight does double Pacs and more than ANY fight Pac was involved in and breaks the live gate record for non Heavyweight fight(even May/ODH). This fight was heavily promoted b/c Floyd is a mega star like he always said he was. The promotion was the typical **** with just a catchy slogan "who you picking" and the usual tours to the same cities like every other big fight. Floyd takes home 30 million plus dollars. More than Pac made in his last two fights combined. Prior to that, Floyd did 1 million with Marquez which is good considering nobody thought Floyd was a draw and he made 20 million. Still more than Pac made in ANY one of his fights. So by ANY financial calculations Floyd is the bigger draw by his actual pay grade and his fight revenues in which he headlined or co-headlined. You have no argument.

Who are these fighters that Pac would be so lucky to be joining in, any fighter of the decade in there? :think

Again, a win over Pac would catapult Floyd's standing on the ATG list. It's also going to bring a lot of legitimacy in his career at 147. Floyd needs Pacquiao.

...but, he has to pay the price. :good

Out of interest, where did you read it was a 65% split in Mayweather's favour?
