Pacq needs MAJOR improvement before he can compete with the elite fighters.

Has Pacq really even done anything impressive? He has not cleaned out a single weight divison. Additionally, he has fought a bunch of fighters who have already been beaten numerous times. DLH, Hatton, Cotto...c'mon- why is it impressive to beat someone who clearly has such glaring defects? Not to mention made up weight classes.

Overrated. Pacq barely cracks top 10 active fighters today.

Congrats to Pacq for receiving such accolades. Although, many would disagree as pacq's body of work in the 2000's was very mediocre.

To me- we have seen this many times before. A fad fighter is like a stock- they gain value at a high rate of speed, but the bubble eventually bursts. Zab Judah comes to mind. He was supposed to be the greatest thing back in the late 90's. Everyone was jumping on his bandwagon- until Judah lost and his work ethic was in question. The only difference between Judah and Pacq- is that Judah actually had spectacular boxing skills.

And Judah fought 17 titlefights and lost 6 of them...So if you think Judah was so exeptionel,go think again.Judah won IBF light welter. title in 2000,And lost it again only 1 year later to Tszyu!!
In 2003 Judah won WBO lightwelterweight title.
2004 judah fights for WBA/WBC/IBF Welterweight title,AND loose to Spinks.....
Just to point out that Judah had loses his hole career...
    So dont compare those two!!!
You hate Manny Pacquiao, fine with me... But who gives a **** who you like???

No, the point is Judah was a rising star- he had rising stock in the late 90's. Similar to Manny. But just like Judah lost and was scrapped by the wayside- so will Pacq. Because they are/ were both a house of cards. No firm foundation.

:rofl You say many would disagree that PAC deserves the honors of Fighter of the Decade, yet the VAST MAJORITY disagree with you & the "minority" that makes up the small group that actually does agree with you.

PAC's body of work overall is beyond anyone of his peers offer...including Floyd. Which is why Floyd did NOT win and Manny did. And it wasn't even close.

So you really think that Manny is a "FAD" fighter? Comparable to "Zab"? Really? The only think that is comparable between those two would be a southpaw stance. Other than that they couldn't be more contrasting overall. Manny has the better resume, has more accomplishments, Has made history, has been CONSISTANTLY DOMINANT and continues to grow in the challenges he faces and as a fighter.

Zab was a case of incredible talent and ability where the skys were the limits and he got by on PURELY his talent. He was laxed when it came to his preparations and he wasn't able to mature fast enough to take full advantage of his PRIME years. He did very well on talent and athletic ability but his dedication to preparation hurt him when it came down to his biggest fights.

With that said...Zab was JUSITFIED and CERTIFIED HYPE when he came out. The kid could have been better than Floyd or PAC. He just didn't have that element of a champion where they are perfectionist....Zab got complacent.

PAC hasn't lost in 8 yrs... So even if he did end up taking a "L" he's been more than consistant. Consistant enough to get FOTD honors against some very stiff comp...like Floyd.:smoke

I 100% agree. Pacquiao is a total fraud all along. All his opponents were paid to lose.

Therein lies the problem: Everyone knows Manny is undeserving of such an award. He may be media darling at the moment- but his stock is a bubble and will pop.

Pac fighting Marquez at 126 and 130 where Marquez was at his best compared to Floyd fighting Marquez at 144 obviously Marquez is not the same fighter. It's like asking Floyd to add +15lbs and fight the best 168lbers in Ward, Dirrell, Bute, or Kessler.

Barrera and Morales were in no way "slow" fighters even when they fought Pacman, especially Barrera. Pacman was still able to retain the speed and power he had in the lighter weights as he went up in weight and it came with deadly results.

Being a "fast" fighter does not equal to victory. In that case Judah would of been invincible and Castillo would have no chance against Floyd, yet he is the only one that has a win over Floyd. I think Pacman has shown great improvement with his foot work darting in and out and most importantly using angles, not staying in right in front of his larger opponents, neutralizing the larger man's advantages. James Toney did it, Floyd does it, and so does Manny, but he doesn't get as much credit for his defense because he is known more for his great offense. It's vice versa for Floyd, known for his great defense, but underrated when it comes to his offense.
