Anybody else see this? I felt Mayol won most of the rounds, the problem was that he was in Mexico and he wasn't destroying Nino, just winning the rounds. But most of the rounds were clear Mayol rounds just not incredibly decisive.

There were quite a few rounds that Nino did nothing but give ground, whilst receiving the business. The later rounds appeared to be much closer, I gave 9, 10, and 11 to Nino, the last to Mayol. I didn't get to see the first 3. Oh well, decent scrap, rematch in Manila.

Nino beat his ass. Bonk used his head combos and still lost.

both fighters suck anyways, its not like it actually matters. I bet Calderon is gonna go after nino now and claim his fame unifying with the weakest champ.

Decent scrap. I thought Mayol won more rounds than the scorecard of 117-109 showed but like you said Mayol wasn't exactly pulverizing Nino.

But overall I'm not surprised Mayol lost.

I wouldn't really blame him. He's getting up there and it would be a good shrewd move on his part.

Unifying belts with Nino would be a better move for Calderon rather than moving up to flyweight. Calderon is already small currently at junior flyweight to begin with plus he has no power.

Could you describe the action a bit? What did Mayol use effectively? What was Romero doing effectively himself that might have swayed the judges?

Calderon needs to be careful who he underestimates, because he almost got sparked early by Jesus Iribe.
