I feel that way too.......... On any given night I have Foreman and Lewis in at #'s 5 & 6..... Them two can easily get switched around by me..... Too close to call.....

For the record, people generally rate "Foreman or Shavers" as the hardest hitting heavyweight mothers of all-time, with dude's like "Louis, Tyson, Dempsey, Marciano, Tua, K-bros. and Liston" riding up in the caboose.... BUT! Truth be told, the hardest puncher of all just MIGHT be Lenny Lewis.?.?

Lewis' KO's over "Ruddock, Rahman and Tyson" are works of art....... Brute power at its best.....

Yeah, on heavy flow days I have him only a couple places ahead of Foreman.

As one poster already mentioned, comparing Lewis's resume to Foreman's is like comparing apples to oranges. Very different high lights as well as very different negatives.

If forced to choose, I would take Lennox Lewis on the basis of having far more wins either at or near the top of the division. Foreman's victories over Frazier, Norton Lyle and Moorer ( as a heavy underdog ) certainly eclipse most of what Lewis did, but the difference in victories over ranked fighters is colossal.. In addition, he spent far more time at the top of his class, and avenged the only two losses that he had, whereas Foreman has at least 5 defeats, none of which ever redeemed.

For me, Lewis makes my top 5, while Foreman usually falls around 7 or 8.

I'd say I am bitter because you beat me to it, but I had decided not to go there and that's what I'm really bitter about. I shouldn't have doubted myself.

I think its fair to a great deal to state that 'Foreman' and 'Liston' were actually better contenders than actual champions....... STILL! Both George and Sonny are EX-champs and considered ring greats.......

I've always thought highly of Lenny Lewis...... I remember seeing Lewis KO Mike Weaver in 1991 and hardly anyone cared or took notice..... Yes, Weaver was about age 37 at the time, but sill dangerous.....

    Ummmmm....No.

Liston defeated Cleveland Williams 2x, Eddie Machen, Zora Folley, Nino Valdes, Mike DeJohn, Roy Harris, Wayne Bethea, Johnny Summerlin 2x, Billy Hunter all pre title.

Who did Foreman ever beat outside of George Chuvalo and Gregorio Peralta?

Sure Sure....Remember a fighter named Jimmy Young? Foreman better watch out or Eddie Machen and Zora Folley might do a repeat of that boxing clinic. And Big Cat Williams, he was as strong and powerful as Lyle, except he was much faster than Lyle. Foreman better Bring his A game for that one too. I would also love to see Foreman attempt to beat Johnny Summerlin in only his 6th pro bout.

foreman is better h2h and has the better quality wins. if lewis beat a 1990-1993 holyfield i wouldn't say this but the holyfield of 1999 was washed up after so many wars.

i do agree with you on power. lewis' power was second to no one. the leverage, reach, speed, and brute power was amazing. i don't know about his tyson knock out though. he seemed to hold back on his power and took 8 rounds to do something he could have done in 4. not an impressive display as his other ko's like rahman.

i agree with you about foreman saying whatever people want him to say. that's why he's a successful, rich, pitchman and personality. what clever pr to go from the fighter in ziare whom everyone hated to the lovable, round, grill man?

Oops , voted Lewis by mistake while I actually currently rank Foreman higher , for some reason I thought it is Lewis or Liston.
It is close . I can understand ranking each one above the other but it is close.
