Terrible. Only a couple of thousand bothered to show up.

 

Cause his fight with Shane Mosley is another fight that did well at the gate.

People always think its just a fighter's name that sells or doesn't sell. Its true that the name counts for alot, but the matchups, the circumstances, and the quality of the promotion also count for alot.

Example : A big draw can fight a Mexican fighter on Mexican independance day, or he can fight him in the middle of July. The results will be totally different.

That's obvious, but if you look the numbers over numerous fights, it all evens out anyway. I can't call Margo or Mosley a big draw off of 1 fight. Margo actually had two fights in a row with big numbers and it looked like he was on his way. Mosley has a poor track record at the box office, and has never proven that he can draw as the A side. Mayweather, Cotto, and Pacquiao have proven through numerous fights that they can be a big draw as the A side. All 3 of them could sell over 10K tickets and do a large live gate against just about anyone.

That depends. If one fighter has only 2 or 3 fights in the last 3 years, then it doesn't necessarily even out as much as you think it does.

 

I'm not sure of what you're trying to make.

 

The matchups, the circumstances, and the promotion count for alot in how much a fight draws.

All of that stems from the name of fighters involved. U could have two fighters fighting in a very important fight and it won't do big numbers if people do t know and/or care about the fighters involved. The Marquz/Vaquez series is a prime example of this.
