Haye is 6"3 78 inch reach Vitali is 6'7 80 inch reach Wlad 6'6 81 inch reach Tarver is 6'2 with A 75 inch reach ..Against the champs he has allot to work with ..
Floyd and Manny have a better chance of running their way to a Decision over the heavies than Tarver does at reaching the distance with Wlad, Vitali or Haye. And that's not an exaggeration.
Tarver was a good fighter and his frame should be able to handle the extra weight well, but the big problems are that he will be a small heavyweight and he is 41 years old. I don't think he stands any chance against either Klitschko and little chance againt someone like Haye, Chambers, or Povetkin. The rest of the top ten beats him but atleast Tarver doesn't get blown away. Tarver's best bet at heavyweight is to try to make fights with old guys with big names like Holyfield, Rahman, Toney, Golota, etc. Fights that mean nothing to the division but Tarver has a chance at winning and gets paid well. Taking on the real contenders will only get him beat and not paid as well. Tarver can add some excitement to the division but he won't have an impact on the rankings.
Vitali Klitschko-No David Haye-No Alexander Povetkin-Yes Tomasz Adamek-Yes Ruslan Chagaev-Maybe Eddie Chambers-Yes Denis Boytsov-Maybe Nikolai Valuev-No Chance Alexander Dimitrenko-Yes Chris Arreola-Maybe Klitschko, Haye and SNV all knock him out. Boytsov, Chagaev and Arreola fights could go either way. Tarver has to box and move against all three. Considering he goes up in weight well, and keeps some decent speed and power he stands a pretty good chance against everyone else, Povetkin being the toughest.
:rofl please tell me your kidding about the ones in bold..... Also, Boytsov, Chagaev, and Arreola would **** Tarvers **** up.....
i think he could do something why not if he does what he said and turns it into muscle and his technique is alot better than most but if im honest when he said "greens only interested in digging up corpses" i think thats a sneaky way for him to try and get that cruiserweight fight to happen
Looking at how well the likes of Adameck and Haye have done I do not see why Tarver should not do just as well. Maybe its the fact I have only seen Tarver fight 3 times though
Tarver can't punch that hard, and you are out of your damn mind if you think he can "outbox" the klitschkos :deal
Wow, for those who didn't vote - check out the poll results. He's getting a lot of confidence thrown his way (53 heads and counting). Six people so far even think he could take Vitali! I'd love to hear from those people to see what stylistic or intangible advantages they think Tarver could have there.
