    1. Muhammad Ali vs. 8. Jack Johnson
    4. Lennox Lewis vs. 5. Mike Tyson

    2. Joe Louis vs. 7. George Foreman
    3. Rocky Marciano vs. 6. Larry Holmes

The seeding is based on my all time rankings.
How do you see this tournment going?
    Who will win?
    Who is your dark horse?
All bouts 12 rounds with 3 extra if a draw after 12. In the event of a draw after 15 the higher ratted boxer advances.
    My picks
    Round one.
Ali 8-7 over Johnson. I think it will be close both great boxers Ali I think is better but will need the extra rounds beating the only boxer as far as I know on this list to fight more than 15 rounds.
Tyson TKO 8 Lewis. This is not 2002. Lewis will be secusful with his jab for a while but Tyson is going to at some point get past it. He has the power to stop Lewis and I think he will.
Louis ko 5 over Foreman. Foreman is the stronger puncher but he leaves himself open. Louis might not be flashy like Ali but he is a sound boxer. I expect him to pick apart Foreman and stop him in the 5th with a crushing blow.
Holmes 8-4 over Marciano. Marciano will try to crowd Holmes it will work in the short term, but most of the fight Holmes will stay away with his Jab. If this was a 15 rounder Marciano might be able to score a ko.
    Round 2.
Tyson tko 7 over Ali. I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion. I'm going to ask you to watch the first Paterson/Ali fight. Patterson who's style is very simmlar to Tyson's was past his best he was able to make contact with Ali. He did not have the engery to sustane an attack. If old Patterson could touch Ali than a young Tyson could land punches on Ali and sustane an attack. I do not buy that Ali would frustrate Tyson or at least not enough to make him quit or lose focus.
Louis ko 11 over Holmes. I think Holmes is going to give Louis a lot of problems and will have a slight lead ofer Louis when Louis conects for the knockout blow in the next to last round.
    The Final
Louis vs. Tyson I need to think about this some more i can see this going either way. I will come up with a conclusion soon.
As far as my Dark horse? I will go with Holmes.

    Ali, Lewis.

    Louis, Marciano.

Ali shades Lewis on pts. Louis beats Marciano prime for prime.

So you have your dream final and that fight's for another day.

Ali will beat Johnson by a close dec.

Tyson takes out Lewis in 5 rounds, Lewis trys to stay at distance but that does not work against this tyson

Louis knocks out George in the 8th round, Louis survives some scary early moments but wears Foreman out and brutally knock him out!!

Holmes wins on a late tko as he busts Marciano up all night and the Doctor saves the Rock when he face falls apart late.

Ali out boxes Tyson and wins on points.

Louis and Holmes wage a tactical battle in which Holmes pumps the jab and has his moments but Louis gets there with the harder punches all night and walks Holmes down Larry makes it the 12 but he is ready to go by the nights end.

I will take Louis to edge Ali in a close fight. I know most people think Ali would box circles around Joe but not me..

Louis wins the tourney for me..

    Joe Louis vs Mike Tyson.
I don't think I will ever come to a concrete concluslion about this fight.
What I expect from Louis. I expect him to be calm keep a good tight gaurd and throw punches quick short combos never throwing more than 4 punches at a time in order to prevent Tyson from countering. I see Louis also being evaseive by calmly steping out of range.
What I expect from Tyson. Constant head movement and body movement as he comes forwards looking to counter and not giving Louis an easy target.
In terms of height and reach Louis at 6′ 2″ / 76″ has the advantage over Tyson who is 5′ 10″/71″
At his best Tyson weighed around 220 Lbs while Louis weighed around 200 Lbs.
Both Tyson and Louis don't need much of an opening to end things.
I have the felling that this might be a less than exciting overall bout with a very exciting ending.
One way or another I don't see this fight going to the score cards.
We know both Louis and Tyson can punch. Therefore two questions need to be answered.
    1. Who will get an opertunity to score first? This bout may come down to this.
    2. Who has the better chin? I think this may be the key.
I don't recall Tyson in his prime being knocked down let alone out.
Louis lost to Max Schmeling in 1936 by 12th round ko. Which was Just over a year away from him becoming champion. I think by the time this fight happens Louis would have corected the mistakes in his style that cost him against Schmeling.
I think that Tyson is more likely to be able to handle Louis's short volleys than Louis will be able to handle Tyson's missiles.
I think that Tyson wins in 9 rounds. I don't think it is going to be an overall exciting fight but the end will be talked about for a long time no matter who comes out on top.

ali outpoints johnson; tyson ko's lewis because he recovers better and is faster in his youth; louis knocks out foreman; marciano beats holmes

ali knocks out tyson in round 11 or wins a decision because he's not a good inside fighter like douglas or holy; louis knocks out marciano

    ali outpoints louis.

Joe Louis beats everybody. Joe Louis is the greatest heavyweight of all time. I don't think anyone beats him at his best.

Ali wins. My darkhorse would be Foreman. Think he'd be a live underdog against Louis and Holmes and maybe too big for Marciano.

No I did not forget Tyson's ko loss to Douglass. I fell Tyson took a major slide in his talent when he and Kevin Roony split up. You can see it in the Frank Bruno fight. He got rid of Carl Williams to fast for anyone to see the flaws. Lack of head movement too much relying on the power. Beleving his own hype. Lacking motovation. Someone if not Dogulass probbly some other no name. I think he would have been movated to beat Holyfield if they fought anytime before he went to prison. I think after prison he was even less movated and just fighting for money.

Can't argue with this, but i do think Holmes-Marciano over and over, it's the most difficult for me.

Ali vs Tyson = Peak for peak it's a 50/50 fight imo.
    Louis vs Marciano = Louis

    Louis vs Ali or Tyson...

I see either Ali or Tyson as the most likely final winners, but Louis has a very good chance too.
