Abraham/Taylor and Froch/Dirrell was an awesome night of boxing. The fact that it was being broadcast from separate countries only added to the international significance of the tournament.

Showtime would be well-advised to take that approach when possible, and as a fan Kessler/Green is no better than an undercard bout anyway.

Wont happen. One fight will get post-poned. 2010 is a cursed year.

what if Green, Ward and Abraham all win by Dec?

That gets AA and Ward in and leaves Green, Froch, Direll and Kessler all with 2 points. It also leaves Green beating Kessler who beat Froch who beat Dirrell. Who gets in?

Showtime has said there are tie-breaking contingencies in place. My guess is they'll go to h2h.

So in your proposed scenario, it would be Green and Kessler advancing.

    Green>Kessler
    Kessler>Froch
    Froch>Dirrell

Dirrell's the odd man out, since he doesn't hold a win over any of the four who are tied. Kessler beat Froch, so it's him and Green (who doesn't have a loss to any one of the four).

Or maybe they'll have an extra match or two. We'll have to see how it plays out.

Good stuff. Abraham-Taylor and Froch-Dirrell was awesome last year. Good move by Showtime....if this does go down.

I am only interested in Kessler v Green. The other one would be an ultimate snooze fest. So it does not matter for me if both fights take place on the same day.

Really? We'll be lucky if Kessler-Green is as competitive as Kessler-Perdomo.

Rather watch a quick Kayo than 12 rounds of hugging, grabbing, butting and rabbit punching.

    Why not a triple header?

I know, I'm exagerating a bit but Abraham-Froch was first supposed to be at the end of August. It surely won't, because of their dispute on the location.

A triple header would be a huge boxing event.
