If Sonny could connect early, he probably wins the fight... Especially if he gets Wlad in trouble early.. Klit might have the skills and the safety first tactics to keep himself out of harms way for a while, but I've never had much confidence in his ability to regain composure once he's hurt.. of course, he certainly had the size, boxing skills and power to get Sonny in a fair amount of trouble himself, but its all going to come down to how these guys approach the fight....

Hmm I'm not too sure, Liston has the punch to KO Wlad, a jab to perhaps disrupt, but his footwork is a little slow. Then again I keep remembering the panic the inferior Peter had Wlad in. Wlad himself has the power to hurt and maybe KO Liston

    A toss up imo

it would be interesting if wlad starts good and keeps liston at bay with his jab.how would liston react if gets frustrated not able to connect on wlad first 4-5 rounds, due to wlad superior footwork?
and when liston tastes that right hand?
if liston gets to wlad,he's gonna ktfo wlad no question.

Yea because Liston was seriously scared of people like that right. Liston use to beat up police officers and gangs easy.
Liston has an iron chin, no way Wlad knocks him out in 1 punch.
yeah, since Wlad has a shaky chin, I doubt he survives the Liston attack. Liston would come in jabbing and then throw an overhand right, I doubt Wlad will take it.
Wlad certainly has teh ability to box efficently and beat Liston, but if Liston gets on him, he will not let wlad survive.
    Liston TKO 10 Wlad

liston easily. liston's longer reach allows him to remain competitive with the bigger guy. he boxes vlad evenly and then shortly unleashes a powerful left hook that destroys vlad. this fight is all wrong for vlad. liston under 3 rounds.

Liston by knockout. The left hook is a key factor here. Lamon Brewster got to him with the left hook. Liston has one of the best of all time. I see Liston pressuring Wlad more than usual, with his big heavy blows eventually getting in. Peter floored Wlad 3 times, so I suspect Liston can do a lot of damage when he lands. Liston was strong enough not to get manhandled in the clinches, and had the reach/left jab to be able to prevent Wlad from dominating him on the outside. Liston will be pressuring, attacking, throwing bombs at Wlad throughout the fight...I see the left hook as being the big punch that gets through. Wlad will have his moments with that straight right hand, but I don't think he will throw it often enough to put liston away with it. I believe Wlad's biggest stylistic weakness is against ATG punchers and ATG finishers, and liston fits that bill.

suzie good post, but you know how liston quit against ali,so it would be interesting if wlad starts good, moving around liston, hitting him with hard jabs and rights.i give wlad a good chance against liston from ali 1 fight

    ...
Wlad does not move like Ali and he does not have the speed like Ali... Besides, Liston was past his prime when he fought Ali the first time, and didn't really train that well.

Liston by KO inside 10 rounds, maybe earlier. Wlad's athleticism keeps him in the fight for a few rounds and he probably annoys Liston with jabs and straight rights, staying on the outside. Sonny would still get to Wlad, the moment it becomes a trading match which is more than likely, and stops him well before the distance. Vitali doesn't last that much longer, but I'd bet more on Vitali to upset Liston rather than Wlad upsetting Liston. Sonny is the favourite, head to head against both Klitschko Bros.
