it's just an OK win, not a very good win at all. Oscar was about 35 years old a nice ways past his best and he was fighting at a weight of 145 something he hasn't done in 10 years......

If you watch the fight again, Oscar didn't show signs of weight drain until the middle of the 5th Round. Did Oscar win any rounds before that? No. So that weight drain excuse I take only into consideration from the 5th round til the end of the fight. Manny fought the perfect gameplan, a style nobody thought he could bring. That in itself, deserves high credit.

People forget that Pac moved up 3 divisions in 9 months. They talk like Oscar was the only one facing adversity cause he had to move down to 147, what about a guy who's only fought above 130 once in his entire career moving up to 147?

If Pac was a WW, I wouldn't call that a great win, just a good one because of how dominant it was. But because Pac was fighting at SFW 9 months prior, and then he totally dismantled Oscar at 147, you have to say that win was a masterpiece.

The fight was at 147 not 145.

ya sorry forgot, i thought it was a catch weight got mixed up. I changed it. It still doesn't take away from the fact that Oscar weighed in at 145, plus he was 35.....and even Freddie Roach said before the fight that Oscar couldn't pull the trigger anymore.

    Just an OK win.

and all this weight drained **** is overkill
DLH agreed to everything and said he was at 147 2 or 3 weeks before the fight and felt great...he just got greedy and got his ass kicked....there was no way in hell DLH would have taken this fight had he 1 doubt he could lose......

Too bad there isn't an ESB section that could log fight prediction/winning percentages. For instance, you could look up someone's prediction on a past or upcoming fight and see their current winning percentage. It would put an end to a lot of trash talking and it would really level the playing field kinda like how on line players(poker) who have legit skills can measure themselves with the pros. Wouldn't it be great if your winning percentage was part of your post. I get the feeling a lot of people wouldn't be so cocky.

let me get this straight right now... ANYONE would have beaten De La Hoya that night. mosley would have took him out in 4 and even hatton would have stopped him eventually!!! Pacs win over de la hoya is no great landmark in his career

How do you explain Pac being a heavy favorite with the Hatton and Cotto fights? Pac was expected to KO both fighters and he did. Those expectations clearly carried over from the Oscar fight since it couldn't be from the Diaz or Marquez's wins. If Oscar ain't a landmark win I don't know what is.

As it has always been here at ESB, always easy to say stuff after the fact to make them look like geniuses.

Yes, Oscar was weight drained imho, but that should not discredit Pac's punches landed, which pretty much what ended the fight early. Coming from Nacho himself, Oscar's conditioning wasn't the problem, it was purely Pac's skill and speed.
