How good was Pacquiao's win over Oscar de la Hoya?

So what was may vs marquez?

 

Marquez "arguably" beat Pacquaio twice so was therefore not "left overs"

 

In most people's eyes (i.e. non Pac/PEDtards) Marquez beat him TWICE.

Almost NOONE gave Pac a chance, mismatch this mismatch that. Said he ONLY did it out of greed for a check and a beating before the fight. Now you want to try to discredit him after destroying the HUGE fav. Nah man, no way.

I can admit cotto got his ass beat by margarito and pacquiao. I don't make an excuse for that (except margo's gloves). But I still now when my guy lost.

 

Holmes was ONLY a SLIGHT favourite over Ali. Do you give Holmes credit for a complete shut out against a man who couldn't fire back?

at the stage of oscars career..it wasn't big time.. but him being hindered with the weight makes it even less.

Overrated, De La Hoya was completly weight drianed. He had no bussness fighting below 154.

 

The win could have been a lot greater had Hoya been more comfortable at the weight, but for what it was, it was a spectacular performance and a one-sided victory over a guy no one gave Pac a chance to beat.

There's a lot of revisionist history when it comes to this fight. People were calling this fight and joke and not giving Pac any chance when it was announced.

In hindsight, yes ODLH looked shot and weight-drained, but lets remember it was just a year earlier that he took a Floyd to a split decision. You'd think a guy who was bigger, taller, stronger, and with so much experience could have at least made the fight more competitive, but he couldn't. As bad as DLH looked, Pacquiao looked THAT good.

In fact, that was probably my favorite Pacquiao performance. He was absolutely flawless in that fight. His footwork, angles, and combinations were so spot on and sharp. I say to anyone who underrates Pacquiao's boxing skills to watch that fight, and look at the subtle things he does in the ring. To me this is the fight where all of Pacquiao's training from Roach finally clicked in completely. Since then Pacquiao has been unstoppable. Brilliant performance.

 

Nah, Pacquiao was a pretty solid favorite against both Cotto & Hatton. I didn't bet on it but I remember thinking that both Cotto and Hatton were good bets considering the odds, but as he often does, Pacquiao surprised me with his dominance.
