Look, first and foremost i respect all fighters, and Froch is as hard-nosed and courageous as they come. But by god does this guy run his mouth! First of all he always talks down to other fighters, and talks about himself like he's some tremendously special and great fighter, when in fact he's just a good, tough, well-conditioned fighter with an unorthodox style who should go life and death with any serious contender and be soundly defeated by anybody truly special. And i also hate how he always talks like there was nothing controversial about his decision over Dirrell, and at the same time now he talks like he was robbed against Kessler, when in fact that decision was less debatable to me than the one in Froch-Dirrell. And there's the non-stop trash-talk about Calzaghe, like Calzaghe owed him something. Tough fighter, but he's way too full of himself.
I never cared for Froch. He lost me back before he even fought for a title. All the crap about Slappy Joe was ridiculous.
True. He is a bit of a dick in the way he refers to Kessler's victory as a lucky home town decision, whilst completely ignoring what happened in Nottingham before (against Dirrell). Yes, he's also very limited as a boxer, and has to rely heavily on his heart and grit to see him through fights. But I must admit he's slowly grown on me, and it is beneficial to have a character like him in the Super Six. He's still a *****, but I've seen far worse personalities than him to be fair
Not to worry. Now that Froch is meeting real competition he won't be in the mainstream for much longer. Soon he will disappear like Kessler and Calzaghe, retired.
I agree with most of this, except he hasn't really grown on me. Everytime he does something I can respect he turns around and acts like a dick soon after. Not the worst, just a generic knob.
what annoys me about froch more than anything that if he threw combinations and was more busy he would be so much better but he dosnt seem to have that in him
Maybe I have not heard as much of the things he has said, but I like when boxers talk ****. Their own unbelievable belief in their ability/greatness/magic/what not is the special bull **** that helps make them what they are. They are entertainers remember. I rather like how large some one makes them selves and then to see how they come to terms or not when they lose is always interesting. Toney Mayweather Froch are a few of my favorites.
Exactly. What the **** is wrong with him? Everytime I see him in the ring acting a fool with his hands down doing nothing I'm wondering how he even got to a belt in the first place
im guessin no one was smart enough to just outwork him smiling at someone saying you cant hurt me is not going to win you a fight!
He beat Dirrell fair and square so no need to say anthing there, he lost to kessler fair and square so yep shouldnt whine there and for Calzaghe then that was all down to Calzaghe starting it all by insulting him for no reason and calling him Carl who?, He reacted in the same way any boxer would by calling calzaghe out. He shouldnt have carried on doing it for as long as he did but initially it wasnt his fault.
I just find there is a dry sense of humour to what he says, its quite funny. He has an entertaining style and will not duck anybody. No matter how much people hate him on here, you all have to accept that if boxing was all nice guys with bland personalitys, it would be pretty boring. Besides a fighter can say what he wants, unless it is extreme it will not take anything away from what they do in the ring (in my opinion)
