This. Ward and Dirrell are still very much learning on the job. and the very fact that they hold victories over Kessler and Abraham, and Dirrell being robbed against Froch shows that they'll be great one day.

I dont think Brits built up Lacy, who has also done more than Dirrell , who would even beat a prime Calzaghe :lol::lol:

 Who would win between Dirrell and Veit? Good one.

    Coming soon, who would win:

    - Andre Ward or Will McIntyre

    - Lucian Bute or Branko Sobot

    - A prime Roy Jones or a peak Tocker Pudwill

I Think a dirrell/Veit contest would be interesting. Two timid fighters
with bad chins who are rangy and good boxers. Veit did terrible against boxer punchers or pressure styles, but when faced with a guy that gave him room he shined. Plus, veit had at least or better punching power than dirrell. Still, i'd have to give the edge to andre because of the superior
mobility and speed. He'd likely win a 116-112 nod, but he'd not be dominate over the german.

So you cant answer the question then I see, but out of the contests you noted id pick Ward, Bute and Jones to all win those fights no probs, but whats so odd about Veit vs Dirrell? Veit has done more than Dirrell has done

Good points Cristo, and an educated answer.
I personally think Veit with his height and jab would beat Dirrell probably on points the more I think about it, and remember Veit edged Braehmer and took his unbeaten run

    - Blown out by Calzaghe twice
    - Knocked out by Inkin, who turned out to be a dud
    - 1-1 against Braehmer, both close fights
    - Needed hometown cooking to beat Kabary Salem and Gusmyr Perdomo
    - Best uncontroversial win was over old Charles Brewer

He may have accomplished a decent amount, but you don't even need to look to the tape to see that he's not in the same class as Dirrell. Add on top of that that he struggled with southpaws and speedy fighters, and it's tough to pick Veit. Watching tape just confirms all of that.

Veit only ever lost to fighters who were world champs or who became world champs, thats not a bad thing.
He took Braehmers unbeaten record and Braehmer is now WBO LHW champ, the fight with Salem was a rough dirty fight and showed Veit could get rough when required, I didnt see anything odd about his win over Perdomo, who went on to challenge Kessler. Veit systematically broke Brewer down with a great performance. Brewer may have been getting older but had still beaten contenders like Pemberton so wasnt completely gone, and after Brewer lost to Veit he also lost to Mock, who Veit beat as well. Dirrell hasnt beaten any as accomplished SMWs.
Dirrell may have speed but it was also aggression which aided fast fighters wins over Veit and Dirrell isnt a real physical fighter.
Veits size and jab would hold Dirrell at bay

LOL that anyone thinks a loser like Veit would trouble class opposition like Dirrell or Ward. LOL. Ward and Dirrell are classes above the garbage Euro bum 168 fighters you people like to praise. Ward is the 2nd coming of B-Hop and Toney, Dirrell is the 2nd coming of RJJ. Believe it.

Could be, wasnt there rumours of Toney and Jones using illegal substances or both having been found to have used something they shouldnt have for a fight, and Ive heard rumours only about Ward and Dirrell. Is this what you mean when you say the 2nd coming?

WAKE UP, this thread isnt anything about Ward, its about Veit vs Dirrell.

Dirrell whos only big win is a DQ over a small former MW champ whos best win was against who? And lost to 'Euro bum Froch' as you call European fighters.
Veit has even beaten a current world champ and beaten better fighters

Bailey since your a known Calzaghe lover, and Mario Veit is a known Calzaghe opponent, its obvious your are trying to big Mario Veit up so Calzaghe looks better.

Veits best win is a controversial MD over Braehmar in a fight he got Knocked down in the first round. Then in a rematch he got KO4.

He also got a hometown decison vs Kabery Salem. Mario Veit was a German hypejob who looked up to Ottke.

The Calzaghe nutthugger has to big up Mario Veit to make Calzaghe look better.

And to make Mario Veit look better they have to big up Jurgen Braehmer and Denis Inkin who beat Veit.

You should have added a poll if you wanted to know the general forum's opinion.

I would have voted Dirrell, Dirrell went through Froch fight without taking a beating but lost due to inactivity, Veit isnt as relentless as Froch.

Bailey, you and your alternate account really need to stop. It gets bold when all these losers you mention who can't get world title shots are supposedly better than guys who are ranked by EXPERTS. You're no expert, so we know you're full of horse ****. Give it up.

    Dirrell KO5

Who do you think would win these fights, prime-for-prime:

    - Bernard Hopkins vs Kabary Salem

    - James Toney vs Evans Ashira

    - Chad Dawson vs Miguel Angel Jiminez

    - Arthur Abraham vs Rick Thornberry

    - My gran vs Mger Mkrtchyan

Please answer these questions, back up your answers with genuine evidence as always, and continue to display the objective, informed reasoning that has made you such a respected figure on this forum. :good

Never claimed to be an expert, but fighters are often ranked by fans rather than experts, take The Ring for example, P Williams is in the P4P ratings with a reasonable resume and lots of close run fights, yet you have a guy like Haye who has won WBC WBA WBO Ring CW titles and the WBA HW title and hes not mentioned, so who are the experts, often journalists and fans who anyone can call experts, so if you class those guys as experts then thats for you :patsch.
You also forget Dirrell is in a tournament that provides oppotunities, he hasnt had to work his way up now, has he. On your logic A Green who hadnt beaten anyone of note gets 2 title shots in a row and hes a loser who gets a world title shot twice

    What alternate account?
What losers cant get title shots?
