Fighters Who Are "Overrated" Due To A Handful Of/Singular Win

I am in agreement that the Foreman shot wasnt lucky, i think he set him up for that shot. However Foreman was taking an ass whupping up until that point. I dont know what fight you were watching to give Old George 3 or 4 rounds. Just to give him 2 would really be stretching it. Id like to see it again to my recollection i gave him 1 round tops.

 

I agree with you on Sanders. Someone described him as catching "lightning in a bottle" against Wlad and that's a pretty good statement about him. He didn't do much else. People claim he was avoided, but it doesn't help when you finally fight a top 10 guy (Rahman) and you lose. And then you get a chance to become recognized as The Ring champion and you look like you've been golfing more than sparring and you look exhausted by round 2.

Sort of like a heavyweight Zab Judah in terms of the southpaw stance and being dangerous in the early going due to the speed and power.

I watched Carter-Giardello into round 9 and thought Carter was well in the lead at the point at that point, his punches were much more voilent/effective. I think Carter may have a case for this win, but I haven't watched the last 5rounds so cant' say for sure

 

As the thread has goen down that route, Quartey certainly beat Oscar, boxed his ears off most rounds, 1 big last round doesn't win a fight like that. Whitaker edged Oscar to

not sure actually. he was mildly lucky but he would of been a tough fight for any version of jones. long body, could punch, southpaw and very good defencively. also could box very well under pressure and a solid counterpuncher.

he had a very good run reggie johnson,griffin,jones,glen johnson. i dunno. he was a very good champ and earned his shot.

in some ways i think the jones II win was underated due to all the roy jones losing 200,000,000 pounds of muscle to make light heavy. it makes it seem like he was just there at there at right time. which i dont think is the case.
