He was hurt but yes a lot of people overestimate how hurt. Especially with all the nonsense about him being nearly KOed. He didnt even go down and you can see how clear headed he was and how well he covered up when he was hurt, didnt do any stupid show boating and recovered very quickly and was backing Mosley up by the end of the round. He was quite a few levels from being stopped, first shane would have had to floor him and even if he did, Floyd is smart and would have used the most of his 10 seconds to recover and if Shane didnt catch him the first time when they come back together floyd is going to tie him up and recover. Shane only has that one chance to catch him with something big as they are coming back together and I dont think it would happen.
And people said his legs were gone in this fightatsch But yes anyone with less conditioning would have went down when their legs buckled but he was able to keep himself up. Its really the exact same squat type movement that he does all the time when he does the stand up part of those situps. I think that saved him from a knock down there.
He might have not been as "hurt" but his legs were still gone from the temple shot mosley hit him with.
The last 1 that made his legs buckle hurt him, the prior right hand he was smiling all the way through, its not the easy to see but when rewatching you can see it. I noticed that rewatching the fight, most of round 2 you can see Floyd smiling
He wasn't as hurt as people make it out to seem. It's just people being people, nobody's seen Mayweather get hut clean and damaged in a long time so they're going a little overboard with excitement.
Let's look at the facts: - His legs went and he held on to Mosley's arm and wouldn't let go when Shane was trying to shake him off - His legs buckled again later The only acceptable conclusion: Yes, of course he was badly hurt and anyone saying otherwise is a Floyd Mayweather cum guzzler who cannot accept reality.
Floyd immediately told his corner he was alright and when Roger went to put water on his neck he told him to STOP im ok, then Floyd starts to look past Roger to see the replay on the jumbo tron so he can see where he made a mistake at by getting hit by that shot.
True that! He somehow couldn't keep his emotional composure throughout the whole ****ing fight. If he could be as ice cold as with Margarito, then maybe he actually would have finished Floyd.
I still pick Mayweather over Pac, but that 2nd round does make you wonder how he'll respond when Pac connects. Pac's faster and more awkward then Shane (it's harder to see Pac's punches coming) and he won't be gassing mid-round.
Same here, by brain says pick mayweather by UD but then again you never know what will happen when and if pacquiao unloads. He has that equaliser.
Yeah, the only way I think Pac can beat Floyd is if he is able to catch him early in the fight and then finish him. If he doesn't though, I assure after 2 or 3 rounds Floyd will have him figured out and will pick him apart. I do think if Pac had been in Shane's shoes and had Floyd hurt like he was that he could have finished him. At the same time though, if Floyd fights Pac, I think he will be very cautious and aware of Pac's speed and combos early in the fight. The biggest thing I took from the second round though was that Floyd clearly has a GREAT chin because Shane IMO is the hardest puncher at WW (he definitely hits harder than Pac) and Floyd was able to take his best punch and recover from it quickly. Prior to that nobody really knew how good Floyd's chin was because we had never seen him really tagged, which is really amazing when you think about it.
I doubt it was a mistake. Mosley is one of the best finishers of the last 15 years. It's more like he COULDN'T finish him, because Mayweather was that much better than any other fighter Mosley had ever hurt. It speaks volumes about Mayweather's ability to fight under the most intense pressure.
Actually in those rare times we did see Floyd tagged, he was stunned/rocked in all of them (Corley, Mosley, Judah). So I think his chin is good/durable, as oppose to great. What is impressive though, is the way he switches in to survival mode and recovers. After that, his opponents never get the chance to repeat those little bits of success they just had.
