Saw his name in the 92 Olympic squad that Ishy posted in the flop of a thread i created

Obviously he was tragically injured in his fight against Botile. What a brave warrior this lad was. Shame there isn't a lot of his fight's on Youtube. He was a fantastic brave fighter who mixed it with the best of them. I know there was rumors that came to light after his tragic loss about drinking and enjoying the life but he didn't half train his arse off for them fights and always went out on his shield.

Remember him packing out his local arena and bring the likes of Manuel Medina to town and imposing his will upon many of them and many fell to his relentless pressure. I know he has lost love for the sport which is a shame but we all know before hand what can happen in a ring..but he was a class act no doubting that.

How good could he of been??? and how would he do up against the guys we have now in and around featherweight?

Add Your Thoughts of him, Stories, Fights..so on so forth :good

I was at the Naz fight and he gave him all the trouble he could handle until the big shot at the end.

Yeah i remember that night. I remember Maloney going mad before the fight threatening to take Ingle back stage if Naz ring entrance was to long. I remember he got off to a bad start but willed his way through it and as you say gave him all he could handle. But came apart late on.

    :good Cheers Kos. Great Article

Glad to know he still loves the sport i know at one time he was bitter..which is understandable. He off the medication as well. I hope he can shift weight and feel some good in himself again.

Benn was spot on he fought some great names and was a exciting fighter, Very underated. I notice how forgotten he is on these boards.

A few years ago I spoke to Maloney about Ingle. He said that had Ingle not lost his title when he did, he was going to match him with Scott Harrison. What a fight that could have been

I've noticed for such a great entertaining fighter there's a serious lack of his fights on youtube. i would of thought it would have Medina or Jones on there.

Oh for real Billy, he was like perpetual motion that said, it looked class. Though probably did him no favours when he mistimed it. Liked the way he changed angles in attack and stuff too.

Yeah i can see what you saying. He wasn't relaxed as he did it. He put a lot into it and as you say must of drained his energy levels.

I think another issue with his energy was to always try and throw 250 punches per round, rather than been conservative with his shots...:yep

I think that a fight with Scott Harrison at the time would have been great but i think that Scott Harrison would have took it late on condition and strength...:yep

Scott was huge at the weight...:yep
