Since there are quite a few people using the excuse of Pacquiao being too small even before they've got in the ring, what weight do you think both will come into the ring at on fight night if they do fight later this year?

Neither boxer has given out their fight night weight for the past few fights, Mayweather hasn't since Baldomir and Pacquiao hasn't since Hatton but in the 3 previous fights where there weights have been recorded it goes as follows...

    Mayweather
    Mitchell 148
    Judah 146
    Baldomir 149

    Pacquiao
    Diaz 147
    De La Hoya 148.5
    Hatton 148

Both look bigger since then going off the Mosley and Clottey fights, so what weight do you think they will come in at?

It's hard to say since Floyd's fight night weight hasn't been given since 2006 and now its 2010. I know that 6 months after the Baldomir fight he weighed in at 150lbs against Oscar and even that was over 3 years ago.

But if we compare their last 4 or 5 official weights at the weigh-in, there's no doubt who is bigger than who.

The official weigh in doesn't tell us anything about fight night weight since Pacquiao came in heavier on fight night against Diaz when fighting at Lightweight than Mayweather did against Judah at Welterweight.

floyd packed on alot of muscle in retirement. Compare pics of him before and after and he's clearly way bigger. but I don't think the size difference will be that great. Clottey is a bigger guy then Floyd and Pac looked comparable to him.

marquez was 148 in their fight night weight and floyd looks like a tank besides him. floyd is now hovering around 155 pounds (in my estimate) during fight time at present while pac has yet to weigh 150 in his fight night.

now the question is, could floyd make 140 or even 144? coz i'm sure pac can still make 140 a little easy by easing up on his 5000+ calorie diet which he always does at welter.

Floyd looks like a beast now, especially when you saw him in with Mosley. Not only did he dwarf him in skill, but he physically looked much stronger. There's no doubt that Floyd is a bigger man (height, reach, frame etc) than Pacquiao.

Equal weight does not mean Equal size. We'll see it on fight night, I bet you!

And like Puga above me has just said, Pac has to force himself to eat to be ready for a 147 bout. Naturally he doesn't belong there, as he's at his optimum weight back down at 135/140 - where he would probably leave a stream of dead bodies if stayed there.

So you estimate Mayweather's weight but you won't estimate Pacquiao's?

Mayweather has never weighed over 150 on fight night either, he weighed 150 at the weigh in against De La Hoya but HBO claim he came into the fight weighing 148 but I didn't include that as it wasn't up on their 'tale of the tape'

The weight at the weigh in has nothing to do with fight night weight, some people are happy to cut where as others prefer not to drain themselves, see the above screenshots for examples of that.

Paul Williams claims he can still make 147 but that doesn't mean he's a natural welterweight and should get credit for fighting at 154 or 160.

pac is too saturated weighing around 143-45 pounds in welter that his body does not balloon anymore during fight nights.

jmm admitted he was 148 that night. and besides floyd, floyd looked larger, mascular and heavier. jmm felt there was a 20 pound difference that night which could be an exageration but mean floyd has a much bigger weigh discrepancy. around 155 more or less is my estimate also with the mosley fight. floyd weighing 148 when he weighed 150 on the scales is never a confirmed story and so was floyd never weighing above 150 coz he never let HBO take his fight night weight since years ago.

the weight at fight night has something to do with fight night weight if they are natural to it.

My guess is the size difference will look somewhere between pac cotto / pac clottey.
