http://a.espncdn.com/boxing/a/2002/0904/1427223.html Has anyone got any links for other articles talking about Jones and his HBO contract?
do a Google news archive search and a bunch of articles come up http://www.nydailynews.com/archives/sports/2000/09/08/2000-09-08_jones__skills_must_pay_bills.html
Roy really dominated the hell out of Woods that night and put up a prety decent show actually. He came into the ring and gave a mini concert of sorts with hot women right before he kicked Clinton's ass.
It was his feints which really impressed me, the way he would get Woods to get out of position, so he could pot shot him. It was a good fight, HBO wanted Jones-Jirov at the time though, not Jones-Woods
Yessir. It was the most inspired performance Roy had given in a long time at that point. His fights were becoming somewhat stale but in the Woods fight he went in there and really went to work. The thing I remember most is Roy sharpshooting Woods with lead right hands from long range. Amazing how he can get away with **** like that. Something lit a fire underneath Roy's ass that night... and I didn't hear HBO's commentators complaining that night. Quite the contrary actually. They seemed to thoroughly enjoy the show, and the hot women of course.
HE doesn't understand how Woods was a top 10 light heavy? Woods got outclassed by Jones, but he was a top 10 light heavy.
clause 8 in the contract "roy must fight bums or sanitation workers only. we don not want his disgraceful glass jaw to get smashed to smitherines" clause 9 "keep joe away from joe calzaghe at all costs. the gulf in class is ****ing huge and could result in jones junior getting 'lacied'"
:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl Prime Jones went 12 rounds with a bunch of guys that were not near Calzaghe's class. Jones never beat a unified, lineal, or undisputed champion in his whole career he handpicked fights. The guy is a Glass Jawed disgrace.
fantastic post backed by irrefutable fact. calzaghe 'lacy'ies' jones at any point in there careers :deal
Your point would make more sense if Calzaghe had not stated otherwise with his own words.:yep:good No one with average boxing smarts would believe this, not even the cocky Calzaghe himself.
