Yes -- when a guy who who just moved out of a reasonably deep division, and into an empty division, refuses to fight anyone from either division, that is a chicken**** move.

Not apologizing for anything. All you've done is mention two guys NOT campaigning at 160 at the moment. You say he can fight Pavlik at 166...which is NOT MW BTW. You are giving him **** for NOT defending his MW title, yet suggest he fight over 160? Yeah, that makes a ton of sense. And Williams? The same guy who says he's going to fight at 147 next? Try doing your homework dude.

Look at the big picture. He doesn't have much time left. Shane would be a good fight for more exposure. Shane's big in LA. And as EVERYONE has said, he's had two big fights recently (three if you count Cintron).

Well said. I am tired of the "most avoided fighter" bull****. Boxers dont fight Williams because they don't even know at which weight class he belongs.

So it's okay for Martinez to fight smaller guys two divisions under him, but it wasn't okay for Pavlik to fight a guy one division lighter? I rest my case. The hypocrisy on this forum is obscene.

And he got beat. He'd get knocked at in a 2nd fight. A 2nd fight with Margo would be just like the 1st. To bad the fools parade on ESB is to busy defending this clown to figure out he's a ****ing joke, and guys look you are the punch line.

Boo... Until recently, Sergio was only ONE division higher then Shane, who as you know, has been a titleholder at 154 himself already.

You have no case to rest brother.

As you know, P Will is looking at 147. Pav 168. Who should Martinez defend against?

  9. Are you ****ing stupid? Apparently so. I love how you're trying to turn this around like what I said is wrong. No. If there is going to be a catchweight, why not do it against a guy you have already fought and a guy who is for all intents and purposes a better opponent because of age, etc? I'd rather him not have ANY catchweight fights; but if there's going to be one, make it one that is more challenging and not less so. Understand? Or is it still lost on you? You obviously need some reading comprehension classes because I think he should be fighting guys @ middleweight.

You also need to look up the definition of the word 'apologist'. Everything you are saying is what an apologist would say.

No. Mayweather wasn't ranked on the p4p lists or at WW when he fought Marquez(who was actually the 135 lb. champ), fresh off a 21 month layoff. Anyway, why would Martinez give up the 154lb belt, keep the MW belt, and then try to fight a bunch of JWWs and WWs?

at 36, i would rather fight for paydays and milk the middleweight belt rather than stack up victories against good competition which most likely will bring in less $

Whose fault is it that Martinez spent 9 years fighting tomato cans? I'm not buying the "he needs money" argument.

What did Winky do to make some money? Moved up and fought Taylor and Hopkins!

What did Hops do? Unified the division, fought Taylor X 2, moved up and beat Tarver, fought Calzaghe and Pavlik.

What did Pavlik do when he wanted a money fight? Moved up to 170 and fought Hopkins.

Fighting Mosely is bull****, and compared to the previous champs makes Martinez a complete joke.
