Head to head, pound for pound, you could make that argument.

haha, i'm one of his most vocal supporters on here and i'll admit he took the roids, he ****ed up and that throws some suspicion on things

but yeah, i'm with you. i'm keeping him ranked in the same place and he's still the most gifted fighter i've ever seen, still h2h the great 168 pounder ever, still in my top 10 ATG

This is a truly dire post.

    - Roy looked like **** in the first Tarver fight, and was lucky to get the decision, then got KTFO in the rematch.

    - And the 18 pounds he put on were not pure muscle anyway.

    - And losing a couple of pounds to a man that size would most definitely not weaken him at all.

Please retire from this forum now, you've embarrassed yourself enough!!

He's a hall of famer but not the greatest fighter ever.

Greatest boxer ever and being KO'd on the 2nd round by somebody does not belong to the same page

    tarver vs jones score card.

rd1.10-9 tarver.pretty even round until the last 30 seconds were tarver lets his hands go on roy in the corner.just edged it for tarver.

rd2.10-9 tarver.roy landing mostly bodyshots in this round but tarver lands some of his own plus some good head shots.i edge it to tarver.

rd3.10-10.not much happens in this round.roy with a few bodyshots and tarver with a few headshots.even round.

rd4.10-9 jones.both are cautious again in this round.jones lands a handful of shots throughout the round.tarver does nothing until the last 30 seconds were he lands a couple of headshots.jones takes it.

rd5.10-9 jones.both nervous of leading in case they get counted, again nothing happens apart from a handful of shots by roy.

rd6.10-9 tarver.a better round by tarver,he's decided to let his hands go a bit more.he takes the round.

rd7.10-9 tarver.tarver's best round in the fight.he takes it clearly.

rd8.10-9 tarver.not a good round for roy, tarver's landed some solid shots in this one.

rd9.10-9 jones.jones landing single shots only, but enough to take the round.apart from one flurry by tarver,he doesn't do much in the round.

rd10.10-9 tarver.tarver hurts jones in this round.another clear round for tarver.

rd11.10-9 jones.jones hitting the gloves or missing, but i give him the round on workrate.

rd12.10-9 tarver.jones try's to make a come back with work-rate and lands some decent bodyshots, but the rest of his shots are either missing or hitting the gloves.whereas tarver lands bodyshots of his own and a handful of clean headshots.tarver takes the round.

    tarver wins the fight 116-113.

but was robbed with the most bogus score cards you can get.

this is the fight that i wanted to happen, but for some reason, jones didn't want it to happen.

    i WONDER why he didn't want it.:huh

i think jones knew that calzaghe wouldn't of stood back and let him do all of his flashy ****,but would of been there punching with him every time he opened up.jones knew how tough calzaghe was and knew he couldn't knock him out.he just used the excuse that alot of american use...which was that nobody knew who he was in the states so why risk it......he knew how good calzaghe was and therefore made sure the fight never happened when they were both in there primes because he knew that calzaghe was a fighter that he could of definitely lost to.....and in my opinion, would of.

it wasn't that great a punch.it would of knocked some fighters down but not out.only fighters who don't have a great chin would of been knocked out by that punch.......like roy jones.:yep

jones would never have clowned calzaghe in his prime, trust me.he wouldn't have had the time to do it because calzaghe would be all over him every second the fight lasted.

oh,and jones never won the first fight, tarver was robbed.:deal

it would be a tough fight for both guys.neither dismantles the other, but calzaghe would win by ud or late stoppage....in my opinion.

i don't hate jones...i think he's one of the most talented fighters in history.he fought some good fighters and beat them...but his resume is not as good as it should be.he avoided dm and calzaghe....plus he could of got in the ring with fighters such as eubank, benn, hopkins rematch(when they were more in there prime)and somebody better than john ruiz when he went up to heavy-weight.

all in all,i think jones is a great fighter, but not as great as some people make out.:good

calzaghe was scared of flying, but was still prepared to go over to the states and fight jones and hopkins in there prime.

but neither of them wanted the fight.....so what was joe meant to do?
