    Exactly, at RJJ's natrual weight.

Plus RJJ had exact same handspeed, exact same power and footwork as he always had, Joe just smothered him and gave him a boxing lesson.

So a bloated, shot to pieces old Calzaghe beat up a near prime RJJ.

    Gene Tunney
    Ezzard Charles
    Bob Foster
    Sam Langford
    Archie Moore

Any of these would have had a shot. Personally I think Moore and Foster beat him.

And remember that Calzaghe was essentially a blown-up Super Middleweight in that fight, and was fighting against corrupt officials.

Roy Jones tried to injure him deliberately with an illegal forearm smash which should have resulted in disqualification or a ban at the very least, but the ref did nothing. This stoked the fire in Calzaghe, who then went on to humiliated Jones in a one-sided boxing beat-down. :bbb:happy

Exactly, if an illegal forearm smash couldn't keep down a bloated shot old Calzaghe, a prime Joe walks through every punch RJJ can muster.

That version of Joe beats any version of RJJ.

I forgot RJJ also ducked Michalczewski.

RJJ's best wins were against a green weight drained Hopkins a hypejob in Toney ( who Nunn even outboxed) and an old beaten up Nunn.

No great wins by any means.

A confident Calgazhe post-Lacy would have given him a good fight.

The Old Mongoose would be trouble for anyone that would have been one hell of a scrap ..But at what age ??I don't know about Foster considering Jones speed but either way I agree those 2 would be the toughest for a prime Jones .

Hard to say, there is not one stand out candidate, although there are a few fighters i would of put him in there with who could conceivably give him stylistic issues.

Nunn's speed, southpaw stance, reach, skills, could of given Roy all he could handle, provided Nunn had his game head on, which he probably would of dont knowing he was facing Roy.

Also, what about Qawi, do we think Roy could handle the heat & power Qawi could bring? Qawi was not particularly easy to hit imo, Spinks beat him comfortably because he was able to get the jab on him, Roy hardly uses the jab, plus he likes to work at his won pace imo, maybe Roy would still win, but im pretty sure Qawi would have a decent chance of upsetting the odds, particularly with his low style, defense, power and activity.

Benn would of got stopped imo, his low bobbing style would of given Jones problem early but Jones would get his timing down and knock him out in the mid rounds imo, possibly with an uppercut.

Eubank reaches too much with punches and leaves too many counter punching opportunities imo, his attacking Boxing was poor.

Calzaghe would make it competitive but he would lose a clear decision in a competitive fight, Calzaghe's defense is not good enough against elite fighters imo.
