Not sure if this thread was truly meant to be taken seriously, or if this is just an effort to try and stir the pot...

In either case, this is a mismatch and a terrible one at that. Spinks loses inside of three rounds.

 

The Leon who fought Ali had less than ten pounds on Rocky at his mean/median fighting weight.

Marciano's power is simply not something Spinks could take. Points would be academic, if it even got out of the first round.

 

Spinks wasn't exactly illusive and it's a match up in the modern era that Marciano would actually win. Marciano KO 5.

However - Ali, Frazier, Norton, Foreman, Holmes etc would rip Rocky a new *******!

People mock leon but the guy was a gold meddle winner and very live and willing when he beat Ali. ok it was a faded Ali but ali was the reigning champ at that time and leon stayed on him and did not alow the veteran to kid himself out of trouble in the way Norton and shavers did. leon stept up and took his chance with less than 10 fights under his belt. could shavers or norton beat that version of ali at that 8 fight stage in their career?

even so it should never have happened. maybe if leon was groomed properly he might have developed into a beter champion later on or maybe he was such a loose cannon he may never have stabalised.

I hear people say marciano could not beat any version of ali, even the poor one spinks did beat.

marciano has the huge edge here but im not so sure leon would not have suprised more champions the night he fought ali.

just not marciano or any of the great ones.
