Does Watson from Eubank 2, beat Benn from the McClellan or Eubank 2 fight? i think Eubank &! Benn, underestimated Watson and came up short because of it, however i never really thought Watson was as good as them, or better, i viewed him as a just above Euro level, a fringe world class fighter, although that is debatable, there is certainly an argument to be made that he was better, i myself dont agree with that but i dont begrudge anyone else who thinks that, anyway!, does the version that bean Eubank in the rematch, beat the Benn who improved his defense and Boxed with more of a strategy against Eubank(rematch) and McClellan?

I dont think the Eubank or Watson beat Benn at his best, he was too gun-ho then and i believe he became a better fighter (after)because of those loses

Eubank before he crippled Watson and started holding back would destroy anyone!!

I don't think that was the question!

I'd go for Watson over Benn at any stage. He was just too smart. The only man who convincingly beat him was a prime McCallum.

Watson edged the first fight with Eubank IMO and destroyed him in the rematch before being hit by a desperate killer punch that had tragic consequences.

the most desperate punchers are the hardest
    boxing is 12 rounds
Eubank was one of the best finishers in the game

granted it was tragic but like i said no one beats him....

Watson was, on balance, the best of the three.
He had already proved this against Benn and IMO had only gotten better since that fight as his showing against Eubank (2) showed, until that fateful moment.

I think that even the Benn that faced McClellan would have fallen foul to Watson's superior skills.

No one? So that counts out Jones Jr., James Toney, Mike McCallum, Michael Nunn, Sumbu Kalambay and all the other great fighters around at that time. No way he beats all them, he would probably struggle to beat one.

I though the whole "Nobody beats him" was a "placed and intentional" exageration on your part???

Defeating Benn and Watson is a far cry from taking out the likes of Michael Nunn, James Toney, Gerald McClellan or Roy Jones.

Eubank didn't fight one top class American and there were plenty active at the time. He's a great fighter but by no means was he the best Middle/ Super Middleweight around. I think you've been reading his biography a bit too much.

he would have wiped the floor with the rest of those guys...

everyone knows the yanks were on their toes where benn, eubank and calzaghe are concerned!! even Steve Collins went to Roy Jones front door and still no

the fact he never fought so called top tier opposition doesn't mean he would not have beaten them!!

You would struggle to find many people who agree with that mate and tragically I don't either. Toney has pretty much every conceivable advantage over Eubank in a head to head and I think he would decision him with ease.

The nearest Collins would get to beating Roy Jones would be on a PS3, so please keep this rational.

No, I dont think so, Benn had improved since when he fought Watson by the time he was beating McClellan and rematching Eubank.
I think the later version of Benn would win by KO, and be ahead before scoring it, but who knows

Toney was smashed TWICE by 5ft 7 bum Griffin, and Toney fluked a win over Nunn after being humiliated, dazed and bemused by Nunns ability.

Toney lost to some D level fighters in his career and got so many gifts like Tiberi, Johnson, McCallum, McGroom & Rahman.

Thats hilarious you even mentioned him.

Eubank would ko that fat steroid taking bum.

Ameribums are so stupid about their boxers.

Eubank that beat Benn 1, destroys Toney, Ko's glass jaw RJJ, gets a UD against Gman and toys with Nunn and McCallum ( who had a tough time against Watson who even admitted he approached the fight with a gameplan he didn't feel right with, and he thought he'd beat him his usual way)

Now someone ban this guy please.

I think so. He looked so strong. Eubank was throwing everything at him and he didn't blink. His stiff-looking punches were ripping Eubanks head about. Benn's ducking/weaving would maybe even be ideal for Watson's short accurate shots.
