I spared with Sugar Ray Robinson, caught him with a shot to the body i knew i'd hurt him it showed on his face,i was just about to close in for the kill when they pulled me out, his trainer told me i was o'kay for 12 year old and to look him up in 5 years time.....mind you he said that to all of us from our boys club...but i'm sure Ray would have avoided me..

I've got the book, and in it he states ''boy did Robin chin me'' - I doubt a young 10st pro would be embarrassed about being stuck on his arse by a prime 12st world champion...... so I'd guess that if he was he'd say so.

Wincobank: Carl Baker was in the ring sparring with Johnny Nelson and another boxer doing the usual body sparring. Baker was letting both Nelson and the other fighter give full power body (shots in turns) and took them with no trouble Next up was Witter and he let rip with a body shot that almost folded Baker, he didnt go down but it was enough to make the sparring halt for a minute or 2 as he recovered
I'm sure Spencer Fearon told Bunce about it. They had been out and had a banter about Manny Steward saying Naz punched harder than Lennox. They decided to go to Spencer's gym and test it out. Griff had a video of it. Might be worth checking that thread.
