Erdei's jab would give Dirrell major problems, though I'd expect Dirrell to come strong in the 2nd half before following Zsolt in gassing and both men, tired in the 11-12th, brawling it out to a split decision either way, result depending on location.

This is a more accurate prediction than most of the "Erdei is garbage" and "I haven't seen Erdei, therefore I go with Dirrell" stuff. To call Erdei utter garbage is ignorant as well as disrespectful. I understand that he haven't fought the best of challengers most of the time and he IS a waste of talent but that certainaly doesn't make him a bad fighter. My take on him is that he is a very well schooled technical boxer - good punching tecnique, nice variety, decent handspeed and a solid defense to go with it as well. Sometimes doubles up on the left hook.

Had the fight been a couple of years ago I would have agreed with you. Back then I would have had Erdei frustrating Dirrell and making him hit gloves. It would have been jab-vs-jab (Dirrell's is also very good) in a cautious contest much like the Froch fight. Much about controlling the range. Erdei's better fundamentals and variety would see him hit Dirrell more than Froch did (I had that 8-4 Dirrell) and in the meantime not get hit that much. If you can get past Dirrell's jab, footspeed and range - he is hittable. He also has better footspeed than Froch and is in my view better than Dirrell on the inside. Ha has many ways of winning. Erdei by close/clear decision.

Now, Erdei has declined and his defense and footwork, as we could see against the EXCELLENT clash against Fragomeni (watch it if you haven't already!), gets worse with his stamina. Dirrell would have taken advantage of this and with his underrated power - hurt Froch and AA - he would have made a roaring forward, brave Erdei a bit hurt and made to think twice before going in. If I'm not mistaken Dirrel has a significant reach advantage. Erdei would look old and a bit slow and Dirrell, with his quick feet and range, would dominate him in the second part of the fight to a 116-112/117-111 type of decision.

A bit long-winded I know, but hoping to get my points across. Dirrell will undoubtely get better so my prediction will change in the future. For example I want his guard to become more solid, also his balance and infighting. Mentally and activity wise he already looked stronger against AA.

It wouldnt even be a fair match. Erdei is too big, too strong, too skilled.
The best LHW and a former CW champ Erdei would destroy Dirrell who was beaten by the limited Froch.
    Erdei all the way

erdei is nothing compared tdirrell .which is why dirrell is doing big things in the super six and erdei. wel he is pretty much not regarded highly by boxing fans and experts. and is it me or erdei has never fought at 168. but either way dirrell would be too skilled for him

not sure haven't seen to much of erdi he has some good wins. but i would favour dirrell as 168 is far from 200 which is what i belive he's fighting at now

 Now I know your joking.
Dirrell was outlanded and beaten by the limited Froch, he gets a DQ win over a small former MW champ whos big win is? And finishes the fight out cold.
Erdei won his title against Gonzalez won of the highest rated LHWs at the time who was coming off his biggest win against Michalczewski. Erdei made 11 defences beating top guys like Sahnoune, beat undefeated Garay twice and Ulrich and then dropped his belt and went straight up to CW and beat the WBC champ Fragomeni. Erdei has a very good resume at LHW.

So your saying Dirrell who lost to Froch and has a DQ win over a former MW champ is better than an undefeated 2 division world champ.
