The Middle Park Hotel, one of the few Melbourne venues to take the Mundine card last night, has complained and been refunded by FOX Sports. The manager of the venue, Julian, was scathing of his critisism of both FOX and BOXA, said no one turned up to watch the card, 'it was an absolute farce', and 'never, never again'. The hotel received a full refund of the $1,300 fee paid for the 'privilege' of screening the 'farce'.
Was nearly silly enough to go to the pub and watch it myself, but the fact that no pub within cooee of me was covering it made the decision easy. Heard this guy Julian complaining on SEN radio this afternoon incidentally. Wonder how many other venues were screwed financially by taking the feed?
Wow, you can bet they won't be the only ones. I think they pulled the tits right ****en off the cow last night. Also, I have never seen a ring so bare of advertising, if youtube is what it was really like. But, if Queensland keep sanctioning this ****, outlets will soon wake up that it's a risky business buying boxing events staged there.
look, I did not watch the fight. I'm just a sick of the bad opponents, Mundine needs now to bring over a good fighter now, look he needs to spend some big money now.
If a few other venues did just what the manager at Middle Park Hotel did, and asked for their money back, the message just might start to sink in. Perhaps others already have. Lets hope so.
I dont mean to be disrespectful but you really only have yourself to blame. Its not like you didnt know it was going to be **** when the card was announced. Same for that stupid manager. She should take some ****ing responsibility. She didnt say that people left she said that they didnt turn up. Just because her patrons are smarter than her doesnt mean she should get money for it.
Good news, hopefully many more venues will do the same and in future simply refuse to show this rubbish - maybe then the clowns who keep throwing money at that dickhead to broadcast his fights will finally realise he's a joke and cut him loose.
I agree with this. Just dont ****ing watch it or buy it!!! Buying something that looks like **** and then being upset that it is **** and wanting your money back is for stupid bitches though. If i go to a movie that looks like **** in the adverts and then the movie is **** should I get my money back? **** no. If the ads make it look good and its **** I still shouldnt get my money back. Its even worse that she is a ****ing manager and that nobody showed. Her patrons new it was going to be ****. She made a ****ing **** business decision and wants to get bailed out. **** her. Thats as bad a doll bludging.
