This gem was hidden away on the undercard of an Anthony Mundine fight, and not televised outside Australia.

This was sort of like a Cliff Notes version of Tua-Ibeabuchi. Past the glaringly obvious differences (it didn't make half the scheduled 10 rounds, let alone a grueling 12; neither of their chins are close to on par with Tua's or Ibeabuchi's; and both of their skill levels are well below that on display in the aforementioned classic) - but it was two extremely powerful and evenly matched heavyweights wailing on each other continuously for the brevity of its duration.

The moment chosen by Cyril Cairns to intercede on Walker's behalf seems a bit fishy - Leapai had been taking two minutes of unanswered blows of about the same force as the dozen or so he hit Walker with before the stoppage. Had Walker gone down and come up wobbled or been out on his feet the stoppage might seem justified but as it is that particular moment, with one man dishing out punishment and the other just soaking it up as though waiting his turn - seemed like par for the course.

    What do we say? Rematch!

Larry Cohen's classic starring Michael Moriarty and a flying dragon?

In any event, it was premature, but not as bad as most are saying. You are told at the beggining of the fight to defend yourself at all times.

Much respect to your Diabolik avatar. I love Bava.

I'm on a Cohen kick right now. He's awesome. Just saw The Stuff and Black Caesar. Fred "The Hammer" Williamson is the man. Saw BONE a few weeks ago. That's what really sold me, initially. You haven't seen Yaphet Kotto until you've seen BONE. Great script as well. But I don't want to derail IB's thread.

That was a rad fight, with a terrible stoppage. I generally feel bad for Freight Train.

I think it did; Cairns took Walker's gloves in his hands the way one would after applying a count - in this case the count simply wasn't necessary as he rebounded so quickly. I had assumed that for judging purposes it was 10-8 round on that basis. :think

with 10 seconds left in the rnd he should have tried to wait and give him the benefit of the doubt and a bit of time to possibly recover. but yes walker was badly hurt.
