Not even just a puncher's chance, don't you think Barnett would be a threat to get a lock on Brock even off his back before the GNP even started piling up?

  3. This would be a great fight, always said that even though we're still waiting for Fedor Barnett.

There is no way Barnett beats Lesnar, the only sort of fighter Lesnar looses too is someone with elite Judo/BJJ skills, who can use is size, weight and momentum agaisnt him. That is NOT Barnett.

Barnett has excellent subs and his size isn't far off of Lesnars. Actually I'd have to think Barnett has all the tools one would need to beat Lesnar. Size , subs, smarts.

Josh Barnett is one of the best Submission Grapplers in the world period. He fought Romulo Barral in a GI, and lost by an advantage and had a tight knee bar locked up. He doesnt train or fight in a gi.

Josh's BJJ/CSW whatever is top notch elite.

Honestly this board is getting as bad as Sherdog. The short memory's of half the posters posing as goldfish is frightening. Barnett is by far one of the best submission grapplers ever let alone currently. He's credentials stretch well over a decade. He is undeniably in the top 10 in the world at heavy and some here actually think Brock would be the favorite? Based on what? Big muscles and NCAA wrestling credentials? Josh would **** Brock up standing or from guard.

  8. Josh has way too many weapons in his toolbox. The guy actually has a very good brain and skills, his analysis is 100% correct.

I would give Josh Barnett 9 wins in 10 matches against both Brock and Carwin.

Thank god!:good Josh Barnett is an excellent grappler and submission artist, one of the best in the heavyweight division. He would have an excellent chance against Lesnar, especially seeing as one of Brock's weaknesses is submission defence.

I think there may be a new era in style and athleticism. Nog, Cro, Fedor and Barnett are going and Brock, Carwin, Cain and JDS are coming.

You always make good points. Theres a shift here in the HW div, Im just shocked to how many are so oblivious to it.

Just to add, I get the feeling Overeems is the only one whos made some adjustment (eating horsemeat and such):)

How come Josh Barnett is generally well liked?

Beside the fact that he´s arrogant and has a really annoying smirk on his face, and the fact that his jelly sides make a creepy hypnotizing jiggle when he fights, he´s stupid enough to not get caught once, but twice for doing roids, and he´s such a douche that he used roids when he was about to fight his very good friend Fedor. He hasn't even apologized, he's just spewed out some excuses that it wasn't really roids.

He got hurt my a slow out of shape over the hill Mighty Mo, I certainly don't think it's out of the question that Brock would KO him.

  13. The only thing Barnett can win in the US is another suspension.

If Josh does possess a serious threat to Brock than about 20 others would also. Forget how easy Brock steamrolled Mir and Couture while still a baby in the MMA world.

Umm, he didn't steam roll Couture and he looked tired. He hardly did anything to Couture until one punch that landed on the spot.
