let it be, i figured that the folks who have a hatred for the faith itself is some low down depressed individual who has a relative of sort that died from the war or the "terrorist act" event that occured a while back.
I cannot even think about the feeling what he is going though, that was horrible, losing afamily member etc.

    That is all.

    Love is love.

Small has every right to demostrate as long as it's peaceful, no matter whether I agree with his views or not (I don't by the way).

My problem is that he is branding the war as anit Muslim, despite Muslims being part of our armed forces. It wasn't the intention to have innocent Muslims killed by allied troops. In reality we are at war with the extremists and terrorists. In my opinion Small's actions have only made the situation worse and the way he protested was classless and he has really gone down in my estimation. His follow up video did nothing but make him sound even worse. I may not support the war but I wouldn't ****ing dare go to a homecoming parade and give soldiers **** for doing their job - some of which are returning without their friends who are defending this country.

To be fair, ****s have highjacked that flag much in the way ****s like the BNP have highjacked the Union Jack for their own purpose to perpetrate their own nonsense.

I don't fully agree with this opinion. While I think Soldiers deserve respect when they are defending their own country, things become a bit fuzzy when their tour of duty takes place entirely on foreign soil for reasons that are not 100% clear. I do not agree with the war, and hence I do not particularly repect those who choose to sign up just to take part in it any more than the average citizen.

In a job where part of the job description includes the possibility of having to take part in morally objectionable acitivities, the person who signs up for that job has to take responsibility for their actions. It is not an adequate defence to say, 'they were just doing their job', when the vast majority of them knew full well what they were getting into.

Firstly, I don't actually give a flying **** what you cosseted pricks think (Rooq excepted).

Not that it is any of your business but I am by nature an Arabist in the wider sense of the term, I have spent a large part of my working life in and around Arab countries and I fully and absolutely respect Islam as a culture and religion. I have absolutely no problem at all, period, with the Shahadah...in fact I applaud it because it is a commitment and I am big on commitment. I don't have a problem with the Shahadah on flags, the Saudis have it on their flag, and whilst I am not big on the Saudis, its their choice and again I respect that. Hamas have it on their flag, believe it or not I don't have a problem with that either. What I do have a huge problem with however is the fact that Small and his clique were waving a flag in the faces of young soldiers which in turn is waved by our enemy, the Taliban...we are at war with them wether you like it or not. If they were not there to incite or inflame why didn't they have one with the Shahadah on a white or green background...the one they used is completely synonimous with violent Jihad. This wouldn't be allowed in any other country and i'm sick of it. In WW1 if you had demonstrated and waved an Imperial German flag in South London you would have been arrested and thrown in jail, only after the mob had given you a thorough kicking...the same should have happened to that piece of pig **** Small.

i also have a problem with small and co waving the flag and shouting abuse at the returning soldiers. but i also have a problem in general with the way the message of Islam has been hijacked and twisted by extremists.

i myself have witnessed extreme "muslims" basically lying about whats in the Quran to try turn others to their way of thinking. its sickening.

Unfortunately Rooq sometimes in this country we have an inability to seperate extremist from mainstream, thats our problem collectively and something that we have to work on together. As a Muslim you will be held to different standards than a Catholic was during the troubles in Northern Ireland...that is an attitude that has to be addressed, its wrong on so many levels. People like Small don't help the cause. Hopefully in 20 years we will all be looking back at this **** period in our history and if not laughing then at least wondering how the hell we ended up there....things will get better. :thumbsup
