Arum wants a good healthy slice of the pie like everybody else. Being of the Hebrew persuasion, a dirty low down snake in the grass, P.O.S., or whatever has nothing to do with it. It's gridlock. It'll get done. So what if Rafael thinks B.A. is a P.O.S., B.A. IS a mountainous pile of steaming doo doo.

If Arum has his way, he'd rather not see the fight happen. He can't stand the thought of Mayweather beating his top guy and making all that money. He wouldn't even get Floyd the big fights when he was with him.

Dan Rafael is a credible and intelligent man. I love everything he says.

Arum has not followed that guideline they set even during the first negotiations. Does he prefer to kill the fight? :think

You realize that Rafael is deep into it with Golden Boy, right?

I'd be genuinely interested to know which big fights Arum failed to get Mayweather, when he was under Top Rank.

I don't think there are many, De La Hoya being the main one he said he had no interest in making and I seem to remember reading comments from him saying Cotto wasn't ready for him when they were at 140 together.

That's about it, he offered him Margarito but Mayweather took the option of getting out of his Top Rank contract instead to get the DLH fight.

Floyd tells Arum he wants to fight ODLH for 20 milllion.

    Arum says it's not possible.

    Floyd wants Cotto.

Arum demands Floyd fight MargoCheato first.

Floyd wants Hatton and Tsyzu @ 140.

    Never happens under Arum.

    Floyd wants Mosley.

Only happens after Floyd leaves Arum.

Every man and his dog knows about Mayweather's chase for a bout with OdlH but, at the time of asking Arum, was Mayweather's demand at all realistic?

I heard that Tzsyu opted for Hatton instead of Mayweather or have I got this wrong? In any event, Mayweather got Gatti instead, which was probably a more marketable and profile-raising bout.

As far as I can recall, Cotto was still at 140 when the offers for the Margarito bout were first made. This following Mayweather's decision to move from 140 to 147, immediately after Gatti. So there's something about the timeline of your explanation that doesn't tally. A related question would be why didn't the Hatton fight come off at 140?

This leaves Mosley, who is rumoured as having been approached years earlier than their eventual bout. I never have and still don't believe, to this day, that any serious offer was made to Mosley, prior to Mayweather's decision to leave Arum.
