What was the longest time you took off from boxing? I havent boxed for 2 months now because of work and I am in need of funds. What about you guys?

I think the relevant question is: how long of a break do you think someone can take without losing anything in terms of conditioning (ie anaerobic/aerobic capacity), sharpness, etc.? 2 weeks? 4? 6?

Also, how long does it take to completely lose everything you've gained through training?

    That's more like it.

3 weeks off, and I could really feel it when I went back.

About 5 or 6 months. For me coordination and timing go to ****. My footwork, while not being completely shot, has to be repolished, which bothers me.

  11. So true.

I havent been in training for a year and a half but kept fitness respectable. Still do a little skills work here and love to go in for a spar occasionally to see how **** you get when you don't train.

I took a 4 yr layoff then got back into it again and had another 5 fights, took me a good year to get back down to fight weight and feeling strong again at that weight.

There's all these guys who kick my ass. Some even take months off, come back and still kick my ass. I just can't win!

  14. Are you an older bloke TCboxa? Or fighting at a higher level, a whole year to get into shape sounds pretty intense!

I took 3 weeks off, since I was basically training for a 1 yr straight. My skills are still here, the conditioning isn't
