How many times i have to let a sign of air when i see some moron make a p4p list with GSP ranked higher than Silva when all statistics and fight performance proof differ. Statistics 1st/.. Silva > GSP plz understand that this is a non bias thread, nothing presented here is opinion or distorted facts. All statistics provided by wiki. The purpose of this thread is to be link for reference purposes. So that any future poster willing to debate will be directed here. Good day Sir. :hi:
Only reason silva is # 1 is because of gsp loss to serra. Other than that loss he has dominated his competition including dominating bj penn.
Middleweight - weakest of all UFC divisions Welterweight - arguably the strongest of all UFC divisions
Why is Silva even in the running.? His last 4 fights Cote, Leites, Maia, all jokes of a fight. Griffin hahaha phantom punch fixed fight by Dana. There ya go p4p my ass. In 2008 maybe.
Also most people are criticizing Fedor for some soft oppositiion since Prides demise. Yet wtf then with Silva? Not only are his opposition been substandard, he ****n dances And calls people playboy. And has the nerve to be unapolegetic for his unprofessionalism? I've had it with that air guitar playing fool.
Someone needs to clean up the crap that's being spewed in this forum(the best site online) Let's leave that in the gen.
You know your struggling when you rate a fighters 'Performance' with - Fight of the night...wait for it...... twice! knock out of the night...yes you guessed it..... twice! and wait also submission of the night! tip for you when making an argument - try and use less wikipedia references and include their actual opponents - and record perhaps as you will see on record alone GSP(20-2) fairs better than Silva(26-4)
But wait he did lose to him right? ok just wanted to be clear. oh and no that still wouldn't change a thing . He didn't even win fight of the night for that fight. Glad you admit Silva is Number 1 though. Who do you have in the ufc welterweight division that GSP has beaten? Matt Hughes- fought the same freaking welterweight 3 times and won the last 2 Matt Serra 1-1 again someone he fought multiple times. And seems to lose the 1st time around. BJ Penn? nope not a welterweight anymore. Nothing in your post was fact. All opinion. And even added a conspiracy that has no merit or truth whats so ever, Cause you wont even give Silva his do's. oh here is a little piece of fact, your boy rubbing vaseline on his shoulders and back to beat a smaller fighter. No conspiracy or speculation. talk about professionalism eh? I didn't write those. that is from wiki and its true. he won twice multiple awards. oh and this isn't an argument its a reference for facts presented that could stand as evidence. And lets do a run down Anderson Silva's top victories. Forrest Griffen top 5 Lhw Damian Maia top 5 mw and top of the chain bjj champion. Dan Henderson ranked #1 middleweight at the time they fought. Rich Franklin twice who was #1 middle weight at the time of their 1st fight. Gsp 's top victories Matt Hughes- #1 ww at the time , losses in their 1st fight rematches gets a win , fights him again for interim ufc title(wins) . Matt Serra- serra was no where near top ww when they fought he had a one or two fight winning streak and was a huge underdog . probably top 15. Gsp losses the 1st fight and wins the second against a ring rusted Serra. Bj Penn- ranked # 1 in lw. Fought a heavier Bj penn. And as for your record comparison, erm you do know that ranking are scored on most recent accomplishments and not their entire fight career? Rankings are usually scored by a fighters statistics gathered in the last 3 years. Anderson Silva is a leading horse in title defenses and has beaten more top of line fighters. check n mate If you guys want to try and beat around the bush , just refer to my 1st post and give it crack, go ahead and try and dissect every little bit of favoritism for GSP. you wont find any. good day chaps
Vitor Belfort should be number one, he has beat the some of the best HW and LHW in the world. It's so sad he hasn't been able to show his skills because of injury. WAR VITOR!
At this point, Silva should be #1 and thats without question imo. It shouldn't be up for debate. Yes, his clowning may have gone overboard recently, but what does that have to do with the fact that the guy keeps winning, and even worse, makes it look easy. He shouldn't be penalized for not having the most live bodies at middleweight, he destroyed the guy he took the belt from and dominated everyone else who tried to take it from him. He got bored, moved up in weight in between his middleweight defenses and got rid of guys there faster than he did at his best weight. If anything, he's more proven p4p (literally) more than any of the other guys in the current p4p list. Here's whats interesting. People want and expect Silva to go down to the ground and grapple with a grappler and get upset. People don't criticize GSP for taking guys down repeatedly and getting his win, nor did they with Matt Hughes. If he faces a more threatening striker or someone who has absolutely no ground game, then its only logical that he take advantage of those weaknesses of his opponent. Say what you want about him; he's arrogant, a jerk, fake, a clown, but that doesn't take away the fact that he is the best p4p fighter
