Was the first fighter to hold onto 3 weight divison titles at the same time.

Holding the lightweight, jr welterweight and welterweight titles all at once on when he beat Jimmy McLarnin in 1934 the first time.

He would give up the lightweight title and the Jr Welterweight in 1935 of April. Thus making him the first man to hold 3 weight titles 4 years before Armstrong did it. He was also one of the VERY few guys to hold 3 linel titles before the alpha soups.

Was perhaps the best of his era, before Armstrong, and has wins over McLarnin, Canzi(2 times) Petrolle, Battalino, and Flick.

In over 80 bouts, he was never knock out. The guy had a chin of iron imo.

Definitely needs reconsideration. Not sure if he could get top 7 for me but probably in the teens at the least.

Ketchel was a great fighter but not quite good enough to make it.

But you always brag about Valuev greatness due to his size. He loses that here... damn though. I did miss Pognsaklek. I wonder where he could fit in? :think

 

The Greb wins are a bit overrated, or so I've always believed. Tunney weighed 181, a solid heavyweight by that day's standards, while Greb weighed 167 1/2, which is a super middleweight today, in their last meeting. In the others, Tunney averaged about 10 pounds advantage.

Napoles was outboxing Monzon at 160 despite being a natural LW until Monzon got a lucky cuts stoppage. I think that establishes Napoles' superior H2H credentials conclusively if the other film does not.

6 heavyweights and no Larry Holmes might be an oversight, especially with Marciano at 16.

Why does everyone have a problem with Jack Dempsey in H2H? Not only is he a favorite against Wlad, but now we're talking on a P4P level. I think Dempsey is basically a better Chavez, who although lost to Whitaker wasn't shut-out or anything.

I was probably most unhappy with Ross and Napoles spots. I was flipping Monzon from 30's to 20's, Hopkins was shifting around. Had trouble with Holyfield, Hagler, Hearns, etc. That middle tier was the toughest spot to split.

I knew you wouldn't like that though.

Holmes almost made it. 6 HWs, with almost half of these HWs being fighters that fought in multiple divisions. There's only real 3 HWs on the list that were solely HW... well also Frazier at spot number 40. I was very unsure with that, as I stated though.
