Hes a big dude but nowhere near the speed, athleticism and sheer strength of a Lesnar or even Carwin. Carwin already overpowered him in a straight up punch out. Pinned him to the cage and made it looked easy. These are big boys, Mirs only shot really was that ankle lock on Brock. The way to beat these guys is to knock them out and hopefully gas them out.

Whats testament to brock being one of the true athlete ever in MMA is when he exploded for that triangle...I was like wow.

I'm giving Lesnar the benefit of the doubt. He lost 40 lbs with that injury, that surely would have taken something out of him. He was always going to be weakened for this fight. He showed a champion's heart surviving Carwin's onslaught and still won. He deserves props. I thought he looked like a changed man on the countdown show, and he showed in the ring how that near death experience humbled him.

  3. Lesnar would get slaughted by Fedor for sure.

My thoughts exactly - I think he's pretty close to a point were there is no real point continuing for him - he's achieved financial stability for his family which was no doubt one of his most important goal fighting in MMA - fedor in his early pride days was scary - i would have no problem pitting him against a grizzly bear and backing him back then - but i think longevity and comfort to an extent has caught up with him i think he's more 'comfortable' now and not as desperate as he was back in early pride. Would love to see him avenge werdum then retire.

My mouth was agape when Lesnar forced Carwin back up and pushed him into the cage.

That's when I knew he was going to come back into it.

Fedor would outpoint Lesnar IMO. Too intelligent, even with Lesnar on top of him you'd have to feel Fedors massive experience (and he'll learn from Werdum, even though he's nearing the end of his career would see him through.

Surely White will see Lesnar rematch Carwin rather than fight Velasquez, who I feel is a lesser fighter than carwin, but I guess he also has am aesthetically pleasing record with a near-100% KO . After last night, I can't see him having anything to beat Brock.

But Carwin has freakish power. At his age, I can't see him improving his stamina, but I'd love to see those two go at it for 2 rnds again :yep

Fedor just lost! There must have been a reason that the great Fedor turned down 6 fights at 5 million per fight. Just give Brock his props for winning a tough fight after being out for a year and STFU with all the "Fedor would beat Brock" talk!

Do you think with Fedor losing some negotiating power now that it is more likely we get a UFC match against Lesnasr if he wins the rematch...?

  9. The reason is that he:
    1) WAS NEVER OFFERED THAT
    2) He was only offered $400,000 which is lower than the guaranteed Affliction money and the same as the Strikeforce money (both with co-promotion)
    3) Dana/UFC bags him all the time
    4) Dana/UFC treats its fighters like garbage
    5) UFC doesnt really have any legit HW fighters, all made it through the UFC hype machine.

FEDOR WOULD EASILY SLAUGHTER BROCK. OVEREEM WOULD DO THE SAME. Heck even Rogers has a good chance of beating Brock/Carwin (Brett certainly looked better stanbing up).

  10. I dont think the UFC was ever serious. Fedor has his own thing going and has his own promotion to take care of. Frankly though, the best fighters are ALL outside the UFC.

    Overeem
    Josh Barnett
    Fedor
    Werdum

are all fighting outside the UFC.

comes from the self proclaimed "Zuffa Zombie" haha

I was both impressed and not impressed at the same time with Lesnar. First he did well in not getting KOed and his cardio was WAY better then Carwins. The thing that bothers me is his unwillingness to take a punch. The first punch landed Lesnar started straight up RUNNING like Bob Sapp, then he basically ran into the cage and dove onto the ground hoping Carwin wouldn't see him or something. Carwin obviously gassed because he had no accuracy in the G'n'P'. But to Lesnars credit he never got KOed. With all that said I don't see either man giving Fedor or Overeem amuch of a problem.

Some people seem to have forgotten that Fedor is the most powerful G & P fighter of all time. :think

Fedor would have picked his BOMBS way better and ****ed Brock up.

Nobody does G & P like Fedor does.

He could have easily dropped Lesnar like Carwin did then pounded his head into the ground.

Carwin has'nt got **** on Fedor.

Both of these guys would get wrecked by Fedor.

An accurate, strong striker will destroy Lesnar. Hopefully JDS will get his chance soon. Fedor ontop of a wrestler like Carwin was ends it pretty much anyway he wants.

The zuffa zombie thing was for my friend wentz who I'm sure you remember was a big Zuffa fan.

I think when Brock was first hit he got stunned for a second then panicked and fell down. Good thing he survived as long as he did because Carwin gassed trying to finish him. As for Reem or Fedor having "no prob" with either of them I'mnot sure about that.
