Yeah...Kingpetch did not go 1-1 with Harada.

Im choosing to believe he did go 1-1 with Ebihara either.

A good fighter, underrated because I alot of people perceive his career benefited greatly from hometown decisions but from what Ive seen thats not far off the mark.
That being said he isnt out of place towards the end of a top 10 if you are that way inclined...he really was a fine technician.

Whilst we are on the subject...anyone who though John beat Marquez care to post their scorecards? I had a hard time seeing that one for John to be honest.
That was very overblown "robbery" but even with the deductions I had JMM winning..looking at the fight overall he was the better fighter clearly.

P.S Thats no swipe at you Brickhaus, your inputs are appreciated.

    1 Jimmy Wilde
    2 Miguel Canto
    3 Pascual Perez
    4 Pancho Villa
    5 Fidel LaBarba
    6 Midget Wolgast
    7 Santos Laciar
    8 Frankie Genaro
    9 Benny Lynch
    10 Peter Kane

It is really hard for me to leave Newsboy Brown and Yuri Arbachakov off
so I made an honorable mention section - other fighters I can see as top 10 picks include but are not limited to: Pone Kingpetch, Jimmy Barry, Johnny Buff, Horacio Accavallo, Masao Ohba, Johnny Coulon, Jung-Koo Chang and Humberto Gonzalez. This was a surprisingly deep and rich division to poke around in!

I also think a couple of names I see listed in high places did their best (or defining) work in other divisions so that is likely why I don't have them here :)

Yes, that scorecard caught my eye as well. I haven't seen that second fight yet, have you got it?

Anybody else see a lot of similarity in Kingpetch and Harold Johnson?.

Both have that very stiff, yet very elegant stance, with not a lot of overt upperbodymovement and an understated way of using smooth turns and intelligent repositioning to control fighters without straying out of ring centre.

Similar jab dominant while waiting for the counter right oppurtunity offensive styles as well. The main difference being Kingpetch was a mediocre puncher, while Johnson hit very hard.

See it abit Lora in the way they are both textbook counterpuncher/boxer.

Who would you say is better?

Harold was better.More physical ability, better defence and power.

Better at making guys miss off the line aswell. I agree that he had a similar style, but I think he was far better adapted to it. It's the difference between doing what you are taught and learning to adapt what you are taught to what you know, to put it crudely.

Guys, I apologize. I have fallen behind again.

Let's make the new deadline for this next week sometime. I will come up with a new definitive deadline....I guess let's just say Tuesday June 15.

I never did my other write-up but I swear to get back in the swing of things on this.

    I did not forget.

I apologize everyone, that I slacked off a bit on these last two surveys.

I have been doing a lot of interviews lately which take a good deal of time to transcribe and have also had several personal matters which have demanded my attention of late.

I promise I will get to this as soon as I have free time.

It will probably be next week, as I have a lot of interviews scheduled in the coming days and all of them are time sensitive.

Thank you for your continued patience!

    :cheers
