I don't see the submissions and ground game as skill. Its just over powering your opponent and putting them into a position that hurts and they tap or you sit on top of them a repeatedly punch them.

I don't mean the biggest man I mean the strongest man. the strongest and best ahtlete will always win. This is not the case in boxing. You need to be smart as a boxer.

Rob there is a lot of skill involved with the "ground game" (though I find it boring)

Rob if you haven't seen a lot of MMA its best not to comment like this. It all depends on the fighters Antonio Nogueira has a reputation for taking a beating from people in his guard then pulling off submissions from the bottom. Fedor recently got beat from a BJJ expert off his back.

Personally i watch MMA for the ground game, i still enjoy the stand up but when you have two experienced ground fighters the transitions between them can be very entertaining. The Thompson vs Healy fight on strikeforce recently was a very good ground fight.

it wasnt a comment it was a question. ive maybe seen 30-40 MMA fights and the bigger guy seems to always win unless they do something stupid (Lesner vs Mir)

Fedor vs Hong man Choi and vs randleman. The really good guys are all about skills and leverage to make a guy tap or choke him.

this is 1 of the dumbest things iv read bjj is joint manipulation iv been training for about 10 months and i am very strong and fast do a lot of strenght work i have since i was 14 now i do a lot of cardio aswell and my trainer is no where near as strong as me but his skill level is so much more than mine that he hardly brakes a sweat when we roll (sparr) and theres a few big rugby players who cum who i can tap and they out weigh me by 3 or 4 stone bjj is a highly skilled sport!

Fair enough if it was a question, It's not an uncommon thing to happen BJJ fighters would be the most common people to do it i would say.

why is it dumb? everytime i watch MMA the big guy wins. i am opnly saying what i see. Is Lesner more skilled that Mir, Carwin and Cotoure.........no even i can see that. But hes beating them all as he is a beast.

    Fedor is not big.

Most of his opponents dwarf him
