when spike was first said to be signing with warren thats what I thought, but I didnt think it would be for a world titlethought hed get spike to 15 or 16-0 and then stick him in with degale, but now degale seems settled at 168 and i cant see spike going that high.
Spike qualifies for the commonweakth i think, maybe him and saunders down the line?

    Is ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan Running Scared?

With the Dolphil Promotions’ Aug 7th Citywest show drawing near, chat rooms and blogs have been rife with speculation regarding the possible clash between Irish Middleweight Champion Gary ‘Spike’ O’ Sullivan and Anthony Fitzgerald. We reported last week of the drama that unfolded in the Neptune Sports arena when Anthony ‘The Pride’ Fitzgerald sensationally called out Sullivan in front of the cameras and journalists. It was reported how Spike had accepted the challenge but in a dramatic u-turn O’Sullivan has now retracted and will not fight Fitzgerald.

A Dolphil spokesman said, ‘Spike is running scared, it is as simple as that. Gary O’ Sullivan is afraid of Fitzy, this is another perfect example of a fighter who is not prepared to take a tough fight’. ‘Boxers have a duty to give fans the fights they want, fans who read about a Champion shunning challenges or a manager applying cotton wool to his fighters are only going to lose respect for the sport. If Spike thinks he is the rightful owner of that belt he’ll come out and fight Fitzy end of story’.
Meanwhile Michael ‘The Storm’ Sweeney has been added to the Dolphil card for the Citywest show; this now means that fight fans will be treated to an amazing 10 fights in one action packed night, tickets from only €40 are on-sale now from ticketgroup.ie or dolphilboxing.com
‘The show we are putting together is a must see for fight fans, ten fights in one fight with tickets starting from only €40 that’s just €4 per fight!!. Prizefighter Champion Willie Casey makes his eagerly awaited return to Dublin, along with current Champions John Waldron and Anthony Fitzgerald. Michael Sweeney, JJ McDonagh, Darren Cruise, Gavin Prunty, Alan Donnelan, Finbarr Eade and Christina McMahon are all set to battle it out on the Dolphil Promotions show.

according to Warren sky are switching all their boxing to saturday nights. not sure how this will work out for the ratings. A lot of casual fans are going to stick with match of the day on a saturday night. According to the brit forum their also bringing back the midweek ringside show which I only have vague memories of, at least their getting behind boxing again.
I havent seen ormonde yet, look forward to doing so

I guess he was just thinking that you were a FW as an amateur but no doubt you have tightened up and are much fitter since you've become a pro. I doubt I'll ever see that chap again. Dont know when I'll even be in the country again, nevermind in belfast. You must be licking your lips at getting on the undercard of all these bills in belfast?
