STPUID THING # 1-Its so stupid when people refer back to the Castillo fight from 2002, when analyzing mayweather as fighter now. The fight was 8 yrs ago! Mayweather has gotten smarter, stronger, and more skilled since then. Basically, Mayweather had a close fight, so he gave the man a rematch the same year, beat him again and erased any doubt.

Compare that to Pac/Marquez where they had a controversial decision in the 1st fight in 2004. So they rematched as recently as 2008, and apparently Pac didn't learn anything in 4yrs because he still got tattooed, and bloodied and was awarded another controversial decision that many felt he lost. If anything, his fight with Marquez from 2008, provides more insight, than Mayweather's fight with Castillo from 2002.

STUPID THING # 2- Mayweather struggles with Southpaws:huh:huh

This has got to be one of the dumbest myths floating around ESB. People are usually basing this off of Mayweather's fights with Judah, and Corley, mainly because he took a few good shots in those fights. But he also got caught by right hands from DLH in the 11th, Marquez in the 2nd, and Mosley in the 2nd, so I guess he struggles with orthodox fighters too?

This is boxing, and no matter how skilled or talented you are, you are occassionally going to get hit flush and Mayweather is no exception.

The fact is, Mayweather had judah's face swollen and bloody and won by scores 119-109, 116-112, and 117-111.

Against Corley, he dropped Chop Chop twice and won by scores, 119-107, 119-108, 118-108. Thats' complete domination. To me that's a testament to his greatness when he's drop's guys and wins by wide margins and people consider that a "struggle."

The fact is, that southpaws have gotten their asses kicked by Mayweather just as thoroughly as everyone else.

Mayweather will beat Pacquiao, not because I'm a *****, or a Pac hater, but because objectively I see him as the more skilled, and talented, and complete fighter. Pac is a warrior and will fight his heart out, but I just don't think he is good enough.

Smarter and stronger?...Yes I agree with that. More skilled since then?....No I can't agree with that, at the lower weights Floyd was more skilled due to having more speed and being in a weight class that suited him more.

You don't think mayweather has gotten more skilled? He consistently adapts to opponents and takes there weapons away, he hasn't been a fight as close as that since, yet he hasn't gotten more skilled??

Maywether's footwork seems to be deteriorating a bit, so how he deals with Manny's constant pressure will be interesting. I think Floyd will win, but Pacquiao will test him all the way to the finish. (Presuming the fight ever happens)

I guess I misinterpreted what you meant cause I thought you were trying to say that Floyd is more skilled now then the Floyd of 8 years ago.

    No problem.....

No I don't think he has gotten more skilled since then but he has gotten smarter because he knows he can't take the chances he regularly took when he was at 130/35. The Chop Chop Corley fight taught him that, yeah Corley wasn't no big puncher but he is able to hurt an opponent and he probably hit harder with one shot then most of Floyd's 130/35 opponents. And speed and punching power are great attributes to go with skills and Floyd has lost some of both since moving up in weight.

I say that because when Floyd is under pressure, his footwork is not anywhere near as good as it was in his prime.

Stupid #3 - Thinking Mayweather has equal power to Pac

Well... they both took Marquez to a decision?

^^ id say he does this because in the lower weights fighters were pushing him around, plus they are more active at superfeather nd lightweight so as he moved up he fought at a slower pace then he did before

floyd aint no power puncher but he hits hard

if he threw as many punches as pac he would have way more stoppages.
