I don't think it's outrageous to say they share equal power.

It's Pacquiao's volume of punches that beats people down where as Mayweather doesn't throw enough to put people away when you often think he could if he stepped it up.

That doesn't mean Pacquiao's one punch power is any stronger.

So basically stupid things that are against Mayweather? I thought this thread would contain debates concerning Mayweather and Pacquiao. All I see is yet another debate that defends solely Mayweather. I'm dissapointed at not seeing both sides of the arguement.

"Manny knocked DLH out, Floyd barely scraped by with a split decision"

"Floyd dominated JMM, what did Manny do?"

"Manny knocked out Hatton much earlier than Floyd"

"Floyd has never been beat, there's no blue print on how to beat him!!!!"

Any fighter can be beat on this level, I just don't see Floyds athletic ability and ability to read and calculate situations in the ring to his own favour letting him down against Manny. He will sharp shoot that right hand that Manny has historically been weak too, and keep Manny off balance with his darting movements, by just stepping back and shooting one punch at a time.

Even as a pacfan i know pacquiao aint beating mayweather. He has too many advantages which he specialises in utilising. If anything the mosley and marquez fights showed me that floyds is the favourtie in the fight but pacquiao is definately his toughest fight to date. Then again who would have thought pacquiao would have come into the cotto fight and basically bully miguel around and stalk him. Same with clottey.

    Good thread

Logic leaves ESB when these two are discussed I agree on these false myths

I think Floyd is just better and smarter

If Manny were to win it would be by wearing him down making him wilt and fold just pressure the hell out of him maybe Floyd is on the slide Manny is the guy to see if that talk is true

I think Hatton was the closest thing to Castillo

Castillo was tough cause he was fast enough to catch up to Floyd and cut off the ring he went down stairs and a big one was his ability to walk through so many clean punches and keep coming

Hatton could get in and land and for 5 rounds was very close but unlike Castillo who took the shots Ricky couldnt take the on the button shots all night and he was taken out

Also Floyd won that fight on a mid fight adjustment

Vs Moseley he did the adjustment just sooner

If Manny gets his attention he wil adjust faster to a new gameplan I feel

Manny should provide tougher than the Hatton fight but I dont think he has the difficulties to have an Oscar like fight

I disagree. There's just nothing to support that Floyd hits harder. Marquez even talked about how he was suprised how light of a puncher Floyd was. It's almost like saying Pac has better defensive skills. Just because his style doesn't have him show it doesn't mean he doesn't have as good as defensive skills. It's almost based on an assumption.

excellent posts by both sensi and leon. Myths were stated and logical answers were given dispeling the myth.

IMO mayweather is just too polished a boxer for Manny to handle.
I personally think after the 2nd or 3rd round when May starts to land those clean shots in the fashion that he does, Manny will be very frustrated, thus resulting in to a onesided affair after that.
