This is one I would LOVE to see. I think the only way to beat Brock is by Koing him. And Overeem has the size, strength, and K1 background to be the man to put Brock to sleep if they fought.

    Thoughts?:think

    Overeem by KO.

I don't think Lesnar would be able to finish Overeem on the ground. I think the gap is so huge on the feet Overeem would catch him at some point during the 5 rounds and stop him on the ground.

Honestly, I see Lesnar taking Overeem down and pounding him out. Overeem don't have Carwin's wrestling ability to keep shake off Lesnar's takedowns. Just too easy of a takedown for Brock, and after fighting Carwin he wouldn't be silly enough to stand with Overeem for any longer than he has to.

Overeem's size, striking and decent grappling makes this a very even affair now. Overeem is a monster, he won't be thrown around like a *****. Overeem isn't just punches, his knees will take your head off too.

Lesnars takedown will always be dangerous though. Lesnar has to work loads on his stand up.

Boxing could learn from MMA because their heavyweight division has big, athletic and skilled fighters.

As mentioned, Overeem doesn't have the ability to defend Brocks takedowns and would likely be put on his back at will. He has a decent triangle, but he's nothing special on the ground. Brock handles him easier than Mir. Carwin was the most dangerous fight for Brock cz he at least had the ability the sprawl a little and give himself a chance at landing some punches. Overoid couldn't so his striking is essentially useless.

  7. Overeem is a far better and more experienced grappler than Brock. Brock would soon be shitt1ng his pants when he finds that he cant take down Overeem. Overeem would soon find himself a moving punching bag after noticing that Brock cant throw a punch and a pick if his life depended on it.

Ive got Lesnar by TKO 1st round , ground and pound , Overeem is a very good technical hard hitting , experienced striker , he has way way to many flaws in his JJ and wrestling for the much superior sized Lesnar , once Brock got a hold of him its done IMO !!!!

well brock has been beaten once by submission so i think he can be beat by subbing him just as well as striking

this is a great match up paper because overeem is really strong and FAST witch is the MAIN thing we havent seen brock deal with yet that being another guyz SPEED

heath, mir and carwin are all very middle of the road as far as SPEED goes, are they lighting fast compared to the average 200 plus pounder, YES, but im talking compared to the best thatz out there and comparatively their average.

interesting to note that randy gave brock a tough fight for awhile and randyz speed has alwayz been under-rated i feel. fighting and wrestling etc has so much to do with POSITIONING for leverage. if brock isnt SET and you push him in the wrong direction his STRENGTH isnt going to help him from going in that direction. thatz what randy did a great job with against brock. that said brock impressed me with how he waz patient with randy in that first round etc. i wouldnt be surprised if he freaked out in that first round if he would have been able to slam randy down at least once however if he didnt finish him i think brock would have been spent and randy woulda eatin him alive there after. thus brock waz patient with randyz superiour positioning early going and that waz one of the main keyz for brock.

overeem is fast and strong and to me the key for a brock victory would be the same thing, patience and timing. brock rushez overeem if overeem getz out of the way brock needz to be able to RESET without getting his head taken off before he getz RESET.

if brock can adapt to use great timing on his rushez and be real patient pressuring guyz but not committing then i think he will be able to take overeem to the ground at one point and from there who knowz

as far as the brock vs carwin fight i dont think it really showz us alot compared to a brock overeem fight or a brock JDS fight for that matter. the reason carwin did so well in that first round waz not because of his SPEED but because of his POWER, his positioning and obviously his good TIMING on strikez.

Overeem. experience is way on his side, though he's always vulnerable because he's chinny.

    Lesnar by GnP.

His standup is only going to get better.. Both him and Carwin will grow from this past weekend.

Lesnar easy; the only decent HW overeem has fought beat his ass.

Overeem gives up in fights that aren't going his way.

It is a takedown on the first attempt and an easy finish from there.

I think we are about to see a whole new Overreem. He seems much better than he was. He certainly is bigger (thanks to the black market).
