I sparred with Adrian Arreola who kod Lupe Pintor and gave a young up and coming Chavez all he wanted. This was at the Hollenback Youth Center in East LA. I did well although Arreola was not at his best at the time.
At my current weight I would be a junior lightweight but I would be too small to compete well there. Probably would find more success at bantamweight or junior featherweight.
Yey i was 15-3 as an amatuer but loss focus and discipline I started drinking more and partying also got in a little trouble. I havent seriously trained since i was 20 although i did start training a little with a friend of mine Efren Chavez (who drew with Johnny Tapia) a few years back. I just lift weights and eat alot of food now I like my fattening Mexican food on weekends.
and after 20 something fights i would have fought these guys in order( assuming that im a future star in the making... Maidana, Ortiz, Khan, Bradley, Alexander( i wouldnt duck no one)... and then i would move on to welterweight.. Collazo, Berto, Mosley, Pacquiao and Mayweather.. greatest resume ever..
I would say that a few talented guys ended up the same way, esp' at that age were girl's and partying are more fun than training. **** you know a few boxers, I have meet Kostya, Jeff Fenech and Danny Green only. kostya is a great guy.
Yey over the years ive met countless fighters. Lot of it has to do with Demographics, there are alot of former champions and fighters from Southern Cali and LA area. Every gym ive gone to here has has well known pros training there some champions. Also im not to far from Vegas(4to 5 hours) so i have also caught a lot of fights over there. Also the WBHOF banquet is here every year, i use to go alot but havent in recent years. I plan on going this year.
Tough match-up. The man is said to have an iron jaw...and if that wasn't enough...he wears glasses so I can only hit him to the body without feeling immense guilt.
